What about from the beginning of March?
Anybody notice the Spurs have the West's 2nd best point differential? Only the Jazz have a better point differential right now. In the East, only the Cavs and Magic have a better differential.
1. LA - +5.1
2. DAL - +1.9
3. DEN - +4.5
4. UTA - +5.8
5. PHX - +4.5
6. OKC - +3.8
7. SAS - +5.2
8. POR - +3.4
What about from the beginning of March?
I really wonder why Mavs have such a low point differential
No surprise here. The Mavs won many games decided by 5 points or less. And the Mavs had some hugh blowout losses too (Knicks, Nuggets).
And the high point differential isn't a surprise too. The Spurs had not many blowout losses. The Spurs are 32-8 in Games decided by 10 Points or more. So 21 of the 29 Spurs losses came by single digit (compared to the Mavs 18-14 in games by 10 points or more).
Since March:
+165. Divide by 19 games = +8.68 pt differential
Would have to check other teams too though. I assume PHX and UTA may be in that region as well.

Well actually, without making more manual calculations.
Looking at Hollinger's Power Rankings, he calculates the average scoring margin in a teams last 25% of games. According to Hollinger:
1. ORL - + 11.4
2. PHX - +9.7
3. CLE - +8.7
4. SAS - +8.68
5. UTA - +8.65
Average winning percentage of opponents in last 25% of games:
1. SAS - .542
2. ORL - .479
3. CLE - .472
4. PHX - .452
5. UTA - .449
Spurs opponents have been MUCH tougher than those of the other 4 teams in this list. So taking these 2 statistics together, it would seem that the Spurs winning margin would be easily the most impressive!

Now that George is down none if this even matters.
Ugh.
He said he'll be fine, no worries. I think he'll be out max a week. He'll be ready for the Playoffs no matter what.
Might be a good thing for Hill to get some rest anyways, he's been playing alot of minutes the whole year and heavily counted on for both his offense and defense. A week of relaxing in a boot will give him some time re-energize just in time for playoffs.
A high ankle sprain doesn't just go away in a week. He could be young and blah blah blah, but some injuries take time. I think he will be out for a while. I'm thinking mid first round.
That would suck if he misses the 1st 2-3 games
Well, mid-first round is about 2 1/2 weeks. The playoffs are almost around the corner...
Sure, some injuries do take time. But he was quite optimistic, we'll see what the docs say today. I hope that the worst case scenario is he'll be back for the 1st game of the playoffs.
Let's hope so. I think we'll miss him less once Tony is back, and that will hopefully happen in about a week. But we really have no games to spare right now, so we'll have to see how we get it done this week.
I posted a new thread called 12th player abt this specific subject: who our 12th player will be for the next week.
That's nuts. Hill will be back before the playoffs.
