Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is very confident as the postseason draws closer.
Dallas is going through a 5-6 slump, but Cuban pointed out on ESPN 103.3 FM that other Western Conference clubs have had issues as well.
"Half the teams are sucking wind, and half the teams are playing well," Cuban said. "... The Lakers are getting torched at home worse than we've been the last few games. Oklahoma City has been playing well, but they haven't had an injury yet -- literally, not one single injury of any consequence -- so it'll be interesting to see if they can keep that up.
"Utah is playing well, but not as well with [Andrei] Kirilenko out. Denver is struggling. San Antonio is playing well most of the time, when Manu [Ginobili] scores 40.
"You look down the list, and nobody's afraid of anybody. Nobody looks at us and says, 'We're afraid of them.' Look, if we dial in, we know we can kill anybody. It's just a question of focus."
The Mavericks are currently a half-game behind the Jazz for the second seed in the Western Conference.
"If you look down the list, who are the stars that beat us?" Cuban said. "It's the rest of the team when we're out there. You know, we're shutting down Carmelo [Anthony]. We're holding down Kobe [Bryant]. We're holding down Brandon Roy.
"Then we just relax, and that's when we get beat."

I was a bit squeamish about a possible Spurs/Mavs playoff series at first, but now I hope it happens just so the Spurs can get the chance to shut this weed up.

Very foolish for him to speak like that. Crofl at him saying the Spurs are playing pretty well most of the time and ignoring that TP has missed the last 16 games. He changed his arguments to make his team's situation more palatable.
Gino scoring like this is not some fluke. His health is more of a wild card than his play. Mavs are a very good team and he is "technically" right with his analysis. But he arrived at the answer not by giving an accurate analysis, just by dumb luck.
He should concentrate on writing more blogs about his thoughts on this season's Dancing with the Stars.
