2 seasons ago it was US vs UK, very interesting. Last season it was the introduction of Kimbo and 4 ex NFL players and a rivalry with 2 coaches that aren't washed up, very very interesting. This season,...

I definitely think that middleweight will give the fights a better chance at being exciting, it's a combination of WW speed and LHW power. Some of the fights tonight were good for the brief moments we saw, some good heart on display as well as some very weak minded fighters.

My only problem is from what I saw, there's a lot of meat heads with stupid macho mentalities. Not all of them, but enough to make a pattern. There's a difference between having a fighter's mentality and trying to act tough, too many tough guys and I'm not sure how many made it through to the house.

I've had a hard time watching TUF since the Junie Browning Show made its first appearance. The fact that they built the entire heavyweight season around Kimbo just reinforced the thoughts that the show had become a parody of itself. In fact, the last season I really enjoyed was 7 (watching Amir submit that y bas CB in the same way for the second time made my week). This is the first season since then that I'm actually looking forward to watching. I agree with Stringer though, there do seem to be an inordinate number of meatheads for such a small group.

So far, so good. I can already tell that I hate half of the cast, and I hope to see some broken arms/legs.

o is supposedly pulling out with some bull so don't bother getting into their fake arguments as the season goes on..

One of the mma sites (think it was bloodyelbow) had a pic of the TUF set up the other day - with Rich Franklin's pic opposite of Chuck's on the coachs' wall. Further fuel for the fires of rumor.

Until I see a picture, I'm not buying it. End of filming and o "leaving" happened at almost the same time, Rich would have to take over in the last week...which isn't long enough to have a real impact. o prolly left filming due to family issues, there's a lot of info out there about it and even though much of it sounds like gossip some of it must be true.

Based on on o's tweets he was there for 90% of the show. I remember him saying stuff like "Heading down the stretch with TUF filming" So we'll see. But either way i don't care about him and Chuck.. So many rumors saying he's out of that fight, i doubt they are all wrong..

I don't have the expertise to figure if it's real or shopped, but there it is.

Not sure, but it doesn't even look like the gym on the show. Maybe that’s from one of the official UFC gyms in California or something.

Interesting. That's a lot of trouble to go to for a fake, but it just don't feel right. Thanks for the pic!

UPDATE: I think the TUF ring is grey and the UFC logo between the posters isn't there on the show. Probably fake.

Also, I believe I mentioned earlier that as much as I dislike o I'd rather have him as a coach than Chuck. Last night's episode proved why. In his younger days, o was a beast and I'm sure he's got a lot to offer in terms of having a quality fighter's mentality (even in the face of defeat).

    RU kidding me?

WTF teaching Clayton after his loss was had to do with anything?
Guy just lost a fight and was pissed. You force him to get o the ground and practice?

I liked it. At his lowest point you show him the error he made. Don't let him think about it for a few days and then show him. Address it on the spot and then later on. It was a good teaching tool for the team..

What did he remembered from this? Nothing. He was still beating himself. He learned nothing.

It was not just about him, it was about the team. Losing sucks but he showed the team immediately the effect of a dumb technical mistake. He'll be more careful than ever about a triangle next time.. It's really not much different than a college player missing a game tying FT and the coach making him stay late to shoot them after the game..

Why should he stay late and practice FT when he is no longer on a team?

    He's still on the team..

They don't send them home anymore because of injury replacement..

You do it when the wound is fresh and you're around your team. On THIS show, TUF, he has no option for being the center of attention a few days later. o gave him a chance to make the most of his time being "the man" in the ring. He lost, but he MAY get another chance somewhere down the road and he needs to remember. People remember better when emotions are involved, it engraves itself on you.

I didn't like him much anyway, especially when they told him his arm was okay. I'd have been like "If it's not broken or torn, let's get this done." Instead he was like "Ohhh, I can't believe it was torn." If he wants to be a pussy and cry and ignore the lesson...he doesn't have the right mentality and completely EARNED his loss.
