Nice, finally!

3 years, $38.9 million.
I gotta say, this made me feel real good. I was sweatin' it for a second there...
Now just hope he stays at home with the twins this summer.
I think that's a pretty safe bet. Actually the kids make a nice alibi to assuage all the Argentinean BB fans.![]()
I'm gonna say this too: as much as I say we need Tony to be something else for the new roster, I would feel just as bad if Tony ever left. I'm just sayin'.
Waaaay too much money! Manu is going to nosedive in a year.
And Oden's gonna take a knee.
Oden ain't making $39MM over the next 3 years.
Probably because he's never proved he's worth anything. Even if Manu's play falls off, he will always be the smartest passer this team has ever had.
And?
Oden has cost Portland nearly 15M for playing in 82 games over the last three years. He has almost 7M guaranteed for next year. Really though, that's just the tip of the iceberg. He cost Portland the opportunity to draft a HOF player.
Even if Manu's level of play diminishes over the next three years, the price the Spurs will have paid over his 11 year NBA career will be well in line with what he has produced for the team.
How likely is it that Portland will ever be able to say that about Oden?
haha roy, durant, aldridge = franchise
I'd sincerely hope Spurs ship Parker out next year.. to the Lakers..
Great news!!!! Love me some Manu!!!!!!
Dude. Shut up.
3 les in 8 years.
Olympic Champ.
European Champ.
World Champ.
He is Manu Ginobili.
And lol..comparing Greg "I haven't yet played one season and I have won nothing" Oden with Manu Ginobili.
Still seems like a bargain. There is no replacing a guy like Manu and what he can do for the team. Manu is worth the max if healthy. No one plays harder, is more creative, or is more determined on the court. The Spurs need this guy in the clutch like the Lakers need Kobe.
Great news !!
That being said, 40 millions is a bit too much IMHO
Well, if it wasn't for Manu the Spurs would have missed the playoffs this year. How much is that worth?
Oden can be compared to Kwame Brown.
after having been underpaid all of his career, he will end up overpaid like many other aging players.
35 M for Tim + Manu in 2011-12 could hurt the team. if tony goes back to his old self next year and obtains a 15M/year contract, that could be 50 M/year for the big three, with two "old" players. a lot of money.
anyway, 3 more years of manu IS a good news, that's for sure.
