First of all, I didn't idolize Head or Tmac. Just entered a name and didn't put much thought into. I liked them and when I created that name at insidehoops they were fan favorites at the time...and since I was already established over there I carried that name over here. (don't worry I'll be changing it soon enough, maybe I'll roll with IpwnButtCake or something)
Second, NEWSFLASH Ariza's defense isn't that much better than Ariza. Budinger played good defense and he isn't horrible. (but you wouldn't know anything about that, because you don't know about what you're talking about when you talk about basketball...and you've proven that here)
All Ariza does on defense is GAMBLE and sell out for steals. Steals are the most overrated defensive stat in basketball. For every steal Ariza gets, he ends up giving up 2 easy baskets. The guy is not that good at defense....as a man 2 man defender he's actually below average.
As far as Brooks + Budinger + Martin. Umm read above, ARIZA DOESN'T DO ENOUGH ON THE DEFENSIVE END TO KEEP BUDINGER ON THE BENCH. He's not even close enough to being a Shane Battier type defender to completely ignore all his faults.

Ariza is the classic great energy platoon/bench player, but crappy starter who gets exposed when put on the main stage.
The same thing would happen to Lowry if he was put out there like that. Lowry doesn't get nearly the defensive attention that Brooks drew tonight. He's a good player, but not a starting PG on a playoff team.
Ariza needs to go back to being a off the bench energy guy...he has been exposed this season and as for Lowry, he needs to stay exactly in the role he's at now, because that's where he helps the team the best. he's our relief pitcher who can throw a good curve/slider every now and then.
