Do the Spurs play to win Wednesday night on the off-chance Golden State wins?

The Mavs clinch the 2nd seed with a Warriors win over Utah OR a Nuggets win over the Suns.

Oh cuz of that 3 way tie breaker Dallas would have right?

I think they would prefer to play the nuggets....but you can't assume anythig considering those games finish after mavs spurs play on Wed. Unless GSW beats Utah tomorrow, I see mavs spurs both playing to win on wed

Kinda. If the Nuggets beat the Suns, Denver clinches the division, which would mean Utah (the only team that holds a tiebreaker edge over Dallas) would no longer be able to get as high as #2.

I'll be surprised if they rest the players... you would think you want to get to the playoffs with a little rhythm and momentum... but if the 7th seed is a lock, Pop might not want to show all his cards yet...

It's going to be interesting how this develops...

7th seed is pretty airtight when it would take a Warriors win over Portland to move up.

Add in the fact the game is in Portland and it will be a B2B game.

And it doesn't tip off until the Mavs-Spurs game is almost over. I think it will also depend if San Antonio has a say in who they play - as in beating Dallas knocks the Mavs down to 3 and gives San Antonio a more desirable matchup at 2.

Zombie Sonics (no longer an option), Portland (Roy?), and San Antonio in that order. Not scared of the Spurs, but they are the strongest playoff team of the three.
Not scared against a team like the Mavs. With the way the Spurs are playing right now, these Mavettes are ed

Well I was really looking forward to securing the 8th seed and beating those chumps in LA, but beating the Mavettes will have to do. Spurs steal a game in Dallas and win in 6 games. Go Spurs Go.

I'm going to enjoy Dirk giving the Spurs fans the finger after every clutch three while running down the court. Spurs fans will have excuses as usual for their annual suck fest in the playoffs.

What does "right now" mean? Are the Spurs in a game right now?

    Past 5 games? Spurs 3-2, Mavs 4-1

Past 10 games? 7-3 for both teams

Since All Star BReak? Mavs have a better record.

I hate when people say this "right now" bull , it's so stupid.

Series comes down to talent/matchups, not whose playing better "right now"

LOL if Haywood actually had an offensive game, then I would say Mavs in 6 for sure..This one can go either way imo but ill give the edge to dallas since they would have homecourt
