McDyess is inexplicably not starting? Hairston not active? Despite the fact that he said he was okay and would at least be active if he had anything to do with it. This coach just doesn't like having his best lineup, there's always got to be something.

This coach is an idiot. Instead of getting a banged up Jazz team that's a better match-up for the Spurs even when healthy, he wants the Mavs (who I still think the Spurs will beat, but I see it being more difficult than it would the Jazz).
Why play any of the key players? The Spurs have no chance of winning this game now, so no need to risk injury to anyone of importance.
There's no guarantee of getting the jazz either, and it's not even clear that the jazz would be a better matchup for us. I mean we have lost all four to them while we had close games and won one against dallas.
I like pop's decision.
If they will play, its stupid not to start them.
just let duncan and manu rest all game... let hill and tony knock the rust off and come in full force this weekend...

Ok. I came to the game under the impression that the Spurs wouldn't be pullin some kinda bull like this. Was Pop just lying through his crooked teeth?

It makes sense. You wanna save the stars' legs, and don't wanna show any part of your hand to what will most likely be our first round opponent. It would hard for the Spurs to play this game to win, and not give a preview of their defensive plans. And even if they win, we still most likely play the Mavs.
Still, whatever the happened to playing the best you can and seeing where the cards fall? If Portland loses tonight, put me on the fit list.
