No matter how much I start to love this guy's regular season play, this is always on my mind.

I see him come up short in big games more often than coming up big.

And although even I have accepted him as a vital piece of this team (and don't complain about his contract like others) I cannot help but shudder thinking about his 3 point shooting in the playoffs.

So here is the chance to voice your opinion on the most important thing Bonner brings to this team.

Will he shoot over or under his season average for 3 pointers in the playoffs?

Because quite frankly if he's at or over I see us being hard as to beat. But if he's under I won't be surprised in any way shape or form.

The burden of proof is on Bonner.

If he fails to meet that burden, there is absolutely no reason to bring him back.

Frankly, I'll be shocked if he comes up big. He's just not one of those players that thrive in pressure-filled situations.

    Hope I'm wrong.

I'm sure Vander and the rest of the Boner lovers (all 4 of them) will post his numbers against scrub teams and garbage time.
    But I know one thing.
If it looks like , smells like . Then goddamnit it's !

Too bad we couldn't play all good teams in the Celtics arena. He seems to play well there, maybe it's having the whole Bonner clan in the stands.

But yeah, I fully expect him to choke. I'd LOVE to be proven wrong and hopefully Matt does just that.

I'd include Mason in the list of chokers, but at this point most of his problems point to overall suckage.

The probability is so low I ruled it out.

He's played meaningful minutes in exactly one playoff series for the Spurs. Who knows? He wasn't good in last year's playoffs, but Robert Horry was God-awful in his first career playoff series and look how that turned out.

lol. robert horry is one of the clutchest players to play. you're comparing bonner, who's consistently failed under pressure to horry?

It's easy to compare them in one sense. We signed Bonner specifically to fill the void Horry left.

It's like when people compared Rasho to Robinson.

bad logic, tonight brought his season average down, so it will be easier to surpass it in the playoffs

But Horry played badly in his first career playoff series. Horry was great thereafter, of course.

Bonner could turn out to be a very clutch player in the playoffs (although I doubt it).

Anyways, I say UNDER for Bonner because the best in the West probably won't allow him to get off as many open threes as against the pasties of the league. That said, defenders will have to respect his range, which will space the floor and allow more room for Tony, Manu, and Timmy to operate.

I wouldn't base his playoff performance on how he does from behind the arc. He's also getting better at the midrange and the hookshot. I'll go under, but not saying that he'll regress from his regular season play.

Bonner outscored, outrebounded, outeverythinged Manu in the playoffs last year

let's just hope that doesn't happen again this year right?

Actually Manu was just as effective as Bonner was in the 4th quarter of Game 5 of last years playoffs..
You know... When the season was on the line? Where was he again? Oh that's right! He was on the bench next to Manu!

    Try again.

    Tough call.

On one hand, Bonner is a certified choker.

On the other hand, Bonner's three point percentage is pretty lousy to begin with.
