Hey guys, as you can see im new here. Although ive been reading the boards for over 3 years, ive only just decided to sign up now.

Ive stolen this idea from a Hornets board, but thought it would be an interesting discussion for Spurs fans.
Say you have the ability to add 6 inches of height to the roster. You can distribute it however you like, giving all 6 to one player or adding 1 inch to six players.

Do you add all 6 inches to Blair, making him the new franchise center piece?
Do you give Hill a couple inches making him the Small Forward we have been missing?
Or do you spread out the height amongst the roster?

There are heaps of possibilities, and i thought this would be a fun topic.

gellus z wish they had bynum's 12 inches cuz spurmz stuck wit bogans little weenie, even the spanyard gots more balls then startin 5 spurmz!!

I would give 2 to Blair for obvious reason

2 to Tony. He could be at another level if he could dunk on the penetration like D-Wade

And the last 2 to Hill

I'd give 3" to each of Blair's non-ACLs so that he had both.

Most people have pretty much hit the nail on the head with this one; the two players on the team that can benefit most from the height are Blair and Hill. However, one has to wonder if one (or both) of them knows that they have to work that much harder since they're a little undersized for their positions. Little things like that can work on a psyche of a player, and, whether it's cause/effect or just a coincidence, Hill is perhaps the hardest worker on the team, and Blair plays perhaps the hardest on the court on the team.

I'd give 3" to each of Blair's non-ACLs so that he had both.
I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Blair is the only player for the Spurs to play all 82 games this year, and if he doesn't have ACLs then he can't tear them.

Damn son. Your sig at first had me feeling a little uneasy with all the hater Dirk pics, then I saw the Hassellhoff and laughed my ass off.

I hear what you're saying, and the ACLs wouldn't necessarily help him this year, but when he's forced to retire at like 26 because his unstable knees have holed right through the meniscus on BOTH sides, I'm going to wish he had ACLs.

I'd give 3 to Mason and 3 to RJ down "there" to raise their confidence a little for the playoffs.

    Sounds painful...

I hear you, though. Really, I don't think anyone, in the medical profession or otherwise, knows what's going to happen to Blair. You could very well be right that it will limit him to a 3-6 year career. On the other hand, similar injuries didn't seem to effect the longevity of Hines Ward or Sean Elliott. It will be an interesting medical outcome, one way or the other.
