What was the final total of Free throws?
34 to 14 ... kinda hard for ANY team to win whenever the refs are that damn lopsided.

Spurs played Hack-A-Damp, if your uneducated got N.O. ass knew that, you'd know why there's such a big disparity.

    Spurs 14 FTA
    Mavs 34 FTA

That is just a ridiculous amount. You'd be stupid to think that the refs had nothing to do with the Spurs loss. We couldn't play defense! We look at Dirk and a whistle blows. In the first quarter, we went into the penalty with 8:15 left!!!

This isn't right and it's almost unwatchable to see the Spurs cheated so bad like this.

son even if you take away the 6-8 "hack a Damp" free throws, that is still an absolutely absurd amount of FREE POINTS awarded to Dallas. like I said, it wouldn't have mattered if the Spurs shot the ball 75% and had a 30 year old Michael Jordan playing SG, the league was determined to push Dallas to victory tonight and they accomplished their goal.

We played like at times as well. Way to many turnovers, but yes the Refs did us. It was a close game, but not including the Refs, was still ugly to watch. I am not sure how we truly match up with this team...Especially with pop playing Mason, Bonner, & Bogans on the floor at the same time. Our lineups in the third and into the fourth were atrocious IMO. But again, yes even with the hack a damp 3 or 4 times, the calls were terribly in Dallas' favor. That goes way beyond homecourt calls.

IIRC most of those came from offensive rebounds.

When Matt Bonner fouls him before he even gets the ball...

oh and sons take away the hack a Damp and the free throws are STILL lop sided terribly. at least 26 to 10!!! .... there is NO EXCUSE for the difference to be that drastic!
especially when Dirks FTs came from fade away shots......not from attacking the rim. The Spurs had over 10 more points in the point and yet shot so many less FTs....insane how one sided the officiating was. I just wish the Mavs fans would stop being such stupid ing homers and actually admit that they got mad love from the refs tonight.

I can admit the Spurs used to, during their le runs....but the Mavs never admit it, but complain like a bunch of es about Dwayne Wade raping them at the charity stripe.

Dirk drew a foul WHILE setting a screen. You know it's going to be a long night when that happens.

If I was a Mavs fan I'd be more worried about why they only beat us by 6 when the charity bus was flying their flag all night. Should have been a 20 point blow out.

The Mavs will always get to the line more than us, but when we can't even play defense unless we don't move or we'll give fouls kinda makes it hard.

exactly! ... Dallas played a "good" game at best, but with the amount of help they received from the officials they should have won the game by 20 or more like you said. if this game would have been called half ass fairly, the Spurs would have won by a good 10 points. no doubt about it.

    and now make that ...

    Dallas 30
    San Antonio 10

sons don't you dare touch the NBA's white boy! .... the dude has made his living from the free throw line. pathetic
What's most amazing of all is the way he draws free throws. He does it by going away from contact, which defies logic. He's not marketable and despite what Spurs fans may think, he's NOT an all-time great (Hall of Famer, yes, but there is a difference), so the only thing I can think of is what you said. It's just mind boggling. This guy get's far more respect from the officials than Duncan, who's in another stratosphere historically.

son I don't like EITHER team. I am just calling it like I see it. ANYONE other than Mavs fans who watched that game tonight could tell the officials were pushing them to victory.

yea it really is pathetic. I don't mean to keep on bashing Dirk because he is a good player, but terribly overrated and receives a ridiculous amount of help from the officials. Maybe if Dirk actually had a post game like a real big man then more people would respect him and it would make more sense as to why he receives tons of free throws.

The turnovers killed the Spurs. That said, the mavs did not play a great game and but for the stupid turnovers and the fact that fouls shots went one way, the Spurs have a great shot to steal game two.

It's amazing how a jump shooter (who can shoot over any defender, and routinely fades away) can draw that many fouls.

Regardless, if Dirk shoots damn near perfect from the field the Spurs can't win. I don't expect him to have another game like that, but we still need somebody other than the big three to step up. RJ... come on. You don't need to score 20, but show me something.

The FT disparity is largely the Spurs own doing - or should I say undoing. The Mavs uncharacteristically attacked the basket, thereby getting the Spurs into the penalty early in quarters 1 and 2. Of course, this doesn't apply to Dirk, who was getting his calls by feasting on the tick-tack fouls by Bonner, Mason and a host of others. Many resulted in "and-1" situations.

Meanwhile, the Spurs were busy turning the ball over, dribbling away the shot clock or forcing passes off of pick-n-roll situations into a clogged lane. As far as I'm concerned, the Spurs made that bed for themselves because the shot a higher FG % than the Mavs for most of the entire game.
