It's the only argument that Kobe homers can fall back on in the comparison between James and Kobe, and Jordan as well (heard many Kobe homers tout the oft repeated quote by Phil Jackson that "Kobe's more skilled than MJ").
Who gives a about skill-set? All that matters is getting the ball in the basket, regardless of how you do it. KG is more "skilled" than a prime Shaq, but no one in their right mind would take Garnett over Shaq.
In my mind if you have one weapon, which is you're only weapon, that's 20 times more efficient than another player's combined arsenal, you're a better basketball player.
Once James win the le this year and surpasses everything Kobe's ever done as a number one option (two straight regular season MVPs, winning the MVP, the championship and Finals MVP in the same year, which every other top-ten all-time players has done besides Robertson and Wilt, oh and Kobe, who I guess is in the top-ten by default) we can finally end this debate and stick Kobe where he belongs.
Alonside the one hit wonders like Wade, Garnett, Rick Barry, Bill Walton, etc.
