No, they just bomb or shoot doctors.
Damn that stinks. That looks like comedy central pussied out.
No, they just bomb or shoot doctors.
I enjoyed the hypocrisy of how Muhammad can't even be shown or his name be said, but it's perfectly okay to show Buddha snorting coke and Jesus being a porn addict.
FYI - the 11pm episode was pulled. South Park always shows the new episode twice - once at 9pm and again at 11pm (central). I record the 11pm one always and watch the next morning. Last night, the 11pm showing was a replay of butter's writing the book. Comedy Central only does that when the 9pm showing creates so much controversy and complaint in the hour after the first showing that they jerk the second one down. Last time I remember that was the -counting episode. I know they'd done it other times... maybe the last super-friends episode? So I haven't seen it yet... I guess I'll watch it online but it sounds like the southparkstudios one isn't the same one that aired at 9pm...?
+1
Also, Tom Cruise on the moon...![]()
Seriously WTF
Some of my friends are Muslims and have no problem with the depiction
Let's see...Christian fanatics, a couple cases of radicalism over years at a time. Islamic fanatics, bombings almost daily with body counts sometimes in the triple digits
Fair comparison?
how about you be more sensitive to the rights of people around you?
we don't give a about your fake ass "prophet"
we aren't muslims. you are. so worry about your own self and your own religion and just ignore us infidels who don't give a .
don't try and tell other people what to do. worry about yourself and your family.
asshole.
duh, that's how the world works
you have to be important for anyone to give a .
in this case, terrorist threats are important.
lol muslims getting angry, shocker

I'm not so sure he was trying to be an asshole, just pointing out the severity of depicting Muhammad within the Muslim community. If anything, he's just reinforcing the idea that these extremists are a minority. A LOUD, OBNOXIOUS, BUTT HURT minority...but a minority none the less.
I think it's time the Neo-Nazis and assorted groups of white power stand up for the rest of us and pick a fight with this Anti-South Park group!
Then I guess all those people that name their children after him are in for a shock.
why don't they just worry about themselves
Your first sentence is an interesting introduction to the rest of your post.
How about you be more sensitive to the beliefs of people around you? People have the right to believe whatever they want to believe, no matter how all crazy we may think it is. Violent acts as a result of those beliefs should, of course, be discouraged and/or punished to the extent of the law, but who the are we to suggest that those who adhere to the beliefs of a centuries old religion should just spontaneously get over it or lighten up.
No matter whether or not you or I or anyone else agrees with or understands the ins and outs of the Muslim religion, and regardless the validity of whatever point Parker and Stone were attempting to make, the fact of the matter is that the choice to depict Muhammad within an episode of "South Park" was willfully and knowingly offensive to a large percentage of the global population. They're within their right to offend whomever they please, and you and I are within our right to find it funny or even poignant, but the Muslim community is damn sure within their right to take offense to the depiction. To suggest otherwise is just silly.
Honestly, it's possible that it's all a big joke from the dudes of South Park. Since they revisited every character ever made fun of on the show, they could have also revisited the "Cartoon Wars" episodes from earlier seasons, where Family Guy was supposed to show the image of Muhammad but pussed out as well. I really don't think they held back in fear for their lives
meh buddhists generally believed in the same way about depicting Buddha, but eventually they just let it slide...
come on muslims, be like the cool, chillin buddhists and just let it slide...
slide...
making death threats is another matter altogether.
Well of course it is. My post was certainly not meant to defend that particular reaction.
Yeah, I am. If you'd prefer a less ins utional, more direct correlation, how about the murder of doctors who perform abortions? Or, if you're not opposed to inane historical examples, how about the biggie: the Inquisition?
You really misunderstood his post, didn't you?
Yeah, because something that happened like 600 years ago is completely relevant to what we're talking about
