The Steelers are open to packaging Roethlisberger and the No. 18 pick to move up in the draft. The Raiders own the No. 8 selection.
Guess talks are back on. I wouldn't mind that trade. I just don't think Roethlisberger is that good a QB.
okung or trade down for picks please!

That and he's had injury problems in the past plus he's a hair away from being suspended for a year.
Perfect fit?
He isn't, But he's miles better than JaMarcuss Russel.
True. I just feel he'd get killed behind this tier line.
Your probably right their. He might give the Raiders an extra 3 or for more wins on the season. He's not going to be an eath shattering move by any means. Other than Bradford, their isn't a ready made QB in the draft. He's still a player the franchise might be able to build around.
I'd take Gronk in the 2nd round over Gresham in the 1st, neither one had to block in college but Gronk is bigger and seems like he'll be a better blocker. Agreed with the rest, Kindle or OT.
Mex who do you want our Eagles drafting?
"Let's draft for offense and put defense off until next season, we'll be bad this year anyway, so we'll have a high pick next year"
--Re ed Lions fans since 2000
Crofl.
And I'm a Redskins fan now, brah. Get with the times.
That's simply inaccurate. That's not Lions fan. That has been Lion's front office.
There's a big difference. Lions fans have wanted the defense addressed in the first round of the NFL draft in many if not most of the drafts since 2000. Matt Millen had a different line of thinking.
Lions could pick Okung and piss me off...they need protection for Bradford and Mayhew was scouting Okung...maybe just due diligence...
i'm a big fan of Mayhew since he started opposite Darrell Green on our 91 superbowl team...but i'll be a bigger fan if he takes a D tackle...
Jam, what was your opinion on losing Simms? Felt like they FO already admitted to making a mistake with Pettigrew.
Saw the quote on 4chan and just thought it was funny enough to post here.
Fratelloah.
Nah, Simms sucked and they didn't draft him. He has all the talent in the world, but he's wreckless and loses his responsibility once the ball is snapped. Nice value trade for Philly, though.
They'll run a lot of two TE sets to try to cover for the glaring hole the have at the #3 WR. Plus, Scheffler is insurance in case BP has any setbacks with the ACL.
I like Ernie Sims. I thought he was a solid player. Problem is that he was supposed to be a franchise type linebacker in the mold of a Derrick Brooks, not just a solid player. I didn't like losing him because it caused another hole they need to address when they already have several positions to try to fill, not so much because I thought he was awesome.
As for Pettigrew, from everything I've read and heard, the move wasn't made because they have any problems with Pettigrew. They plan on using a two tight end look much more on offense, and with Pettigrew coming off of injury and one of the mainstays on the Lions roster, TE Casey Fitzsimmons, retiring, Sheffler is somewhat also an insurance policy just in case Pettigrew isn't 100% this season. I don't have inside information so who knows, you could be right, but there's no indication that's it's because they think they made a mistake about Pettigrew.
I just didn't like moving Sims because now they should address the linebacker position with one of the first 4 picks whereas they already had a lot of positions to address.
