Basektball has really made a push on the global scale.I've only played baseball 2 times in my life in highschool. Never played Football. Hockey is the only main US sport which is popular in France (after basketball of course).

Me personally, bball and football are a lot more fun to play than baseball, imo. Baseball you wait and wait to bat and then stand around in the field for long periods of time.

I havent really checked and I'm curious.....are there any soccer stars that are currently more popular than Manu in Argentina?
Many more and even some from other countries. Compared to soccer, basketball is nowhere near as big/popular.
I've visited Buenos Aires 2 years ago during the playoffs against New Orleans in Rd. 1. Tons of soccer stuff all over the place, but there wasn't much excitement for Manu.

Yeah, there're lots of them. You have to undertand that Soccer is popular among 90% of Argentinians, basketball only to 10% (That's obviously just a made up number but it must be close to that difference, football is miles ahead of baskteball in terms of popularity in Argentina. In fact basketball isn't even the second most popular sport in our country. Racing, tennis and probably Rugby are bigger than basketball here).
Best player of the most popular sport vs a great player (but nowhere close the best) of a not so popular sport, you do the math.

the only skill I see is the scrawny quarterbacks throwing the ball and the few ones that catch it. that's it. so we are talking about 5 skilled athletes PER GAME, the 45 others are just regular fat overfed americans.
one time I went to a bar and unfortunately there was a football game on, so unfortunately the bar was crowded with football fans. apparently the game was important because some of the fans were wearing cheese on their heads. ing cheesee on their heads!! does that even ing make sense??? what kind of re shows their allegiance to a team by wearing a big piece of cheese on their head????this ing sport is ridiculous!
the only reason I see why americans prefer football to soccer is because most americans are already fat and skill-less so they automatically qualify for the sport.

i know you're serious but this question shows a lot about the difference between US and the rest of the world about sports.
Messi is really more popular in the world than manu. not even close. In argentina, it doesn't seem so clear apparently.
