Like I said in the other thread, I'm most excited to see this kid on returns. I'm not sure how big of an impact he will have on offense, but he could be a huge asset in the return game.

Can you imagine putting Roy and Miles on the outside and Dez in the slot? That's how Minny used Moss his rookie year, flanked by Chris Carter and Jake Reed.

    doubtful.

Pretty rare that a team puts a first rounder on returns.

Then again, maybe that's what Denver will do with Tebow

Can't agree with you on this...Dez's hands are strong as ..dude makes ridiculous catches...he'll be in the slot...running deep routes periodically..

Didnt they do that with Ted Ginn?

He will make the offense better no doubt, but I still think his biggest impact on this team will be in the return game. He is a freak returner. When was the last time the Cowboys had a dangerous return guy?

    And don't say Patrick Crayton.

    If I recall, yes.

Maybe the Cowboys do it, but me, I'm ok with Crayton returning kicks while protecting my top pick.

Pacman could catch and hold 6 footballs, iirc.

Newman was an awesome returner at Kansas St. I'm not sure he has ever returned a kick for the cowboys.

Now cut ties with Roy Williams.

    Cowboys sure love their headcases..
And what exactly is wrong with Bryant's head?

I was extremely happy when we drafted Dez Bryant. I wanted either Earl Thomas or Dez Bryant, so I am happy.

Jones insisted this pick was “more about what Bryant is than what Roy isn’t.” Coach Wade Phillips added that some rookie receivers are slow to adjust to the NFL, but he and Jones believe Bryant will make an impact right away as a punt returner.

“He has a chance to be a game-changer,” Jones said.

Bryant is looking forward to returning kicks.

“That was one of the things I love to do,” he said.

Awesome pick by the Cowboys. At the press conference Jerry said they will not be moving Roy and that it creates a pretty good group of receivers. He will be awesome in the return game and just imagining Roy and Miles outside with Dez in the slot and Witten and Jones on the field at the same time. Wow, pretty awesome.

cowboys special teams coach also loves Bryants ability in the return game so i guess we should be seeing him return a punt or two this season

I think the salary cap issue might be one of the reasons he gets cut.
That would be true if he still wasn't owed so much guaranteed money. No way JJ throws that much money away while admitting he ed up by signing him.

I actually have a feeling that he could produce this season as the 3rd WR - no pressure and definite single coverage against a 3rd corner or safety.

To much talent at the skill positions for one ball to play with.

A lot of players will be disgruntled. (Choice and Bennett have already made that clear).

They need to make some moves to resolve this potential issue.

Whether if it's waiving Roy Williams, Trading Crayton or Marty B.

    JJ needs to do something.

I don't know if he was trying to, but Jerry really needs to trade Bennett for either extra picks or for a safety/tackle prospect to groom. I'd keep Choice but use him as the main back with Felix and keep Barber fresh for the 4th quarter grind time. All the injuries Barber has had over the last 2 seasons can be used as a selling point to him being kept fresh for the end of games and playoffs. The receivers are fine with Miles, Dez, and Roy as the three and either Crayton or Ogletree as the 4th guy. I'm for getting rid of Hurd and using Ogletree as the 4th and Crayton as the 5th if Crayton wouldn't be a distraction about it. Definitely need to trade Marty B though - dude hasn't been performing and is a goofy ass who's getting his house forclosed on over HOA dues/fines not being paid. He still has that raw potential to entice a team yet the Cowboys have Witten and Phillips, who proved to be a good TE last year.

Heard an interview receivers coach Ray Sherman, who has coached greats like Rice, Chris Carter, Moss, TO, etc. , did where he said Dez has the tools and ability to be as good as TO.

I don't think there's a chance in Jones cuts RW.

    His ego won't allow it.

He is also an elite WR, so he won't not only be a punt returner.
