Only silver lining is that Bavetta's calls tend to keep games from becoming blowouts.
I would like a statistician or professional gambler to weigh in on that disparity. I'm not saying we should be going 15-1 in games he calls, since he tends to call fewer fouls and the Mavs rely an awful lot on shooting 80% from the FT line. But at this point it is just ridiculous he refs our games.

Lmao again at mav fans crying again before the game. Worked out well last time as you got 20! more fts. Crofl mav fan
28-14 without hacking Dampier. And the Mavs were the more aggressive team in G1. You'd be crying if Joey Crawford shows up to ref a Spurs game. How can he possibly fairly officiate Duncan after what happened in 2007?
well I guess my point is there is no hard evidence Danny hates the mavs or is trying to screw them. I would have to see which games he refed where mavs lost.
On the other hand it's factual that Joey hates Duncan. He challenged him to a fight, got suspended for it and refused to apologize. That is proof that he has a legitimate beef with Tim Duncan. It's a disgrace he still refs playoff games for Spurs.
I watched some of his games. It's not a coincidence the mavs are 1-15 with Danny. He calls a lot of fouls on us and lets Dirk get beat up. Basically he does everything he can for us to lose. No matter at home or on the road.
Huge disparity still. How did that happen w a ref that hates y'all? Prove the mavs were more agressive. Spurs had more points in the paint a Dirk shot primarily jump shots. Look at his shot chart. By your logic, if the mavs were more aggressive, then the ref tonight will be forced to make the calls like in game one.
I don't care if Joey refs the spurs. If the league thinks he is fine to ref other teams he is fine to ref the spurs.
I will watch very carefully tonight then.
Salvatore doesn't hate us. He's just a ty ref that gets swayed by the crowd and goes with the home team. It bit us in the ass when he reffed G5 in the 06 Finals. I would like a database to see what the home team's record is in the playoffs when he calls a game.
Well game 1 isn't exactly a ringing endorsement for your argument.
I'm reeeeally hopin' Dice didn't wear himself out too badly from Gm 2. Loved his quickness and ferociousness guarding Dirk. He didn't fall for the all-too-tempting pump fakes that Matt tends to cream himself over.
Would also like to see Blair do fuh. king. some. thing.
1-15 with Dan Crawford.
and 0-15 when Dirk doesn't go for 50+
What a gay officiating assignment for the boys in blue tonight.
I'm not trying to make excuses before the game starts but that's a highly fishy stat.
.......you just did.
Mavs win solidly. Hard to say a score, because they can be up by 20 with 2 minutes to go, then the spurs will hit some meaningless 3s to cut it to 9 and suddenly spurs fans will say "spurs sucked ass all game but only lost by 9!!! we rule!!!!!!!!!!!"
What? Bonner rarely even jumps when he's 100% positive Dirk's going to shoot. Too easily called for fouls.
I'd actually say Dyess falls harder for his headfakes than Bonner, even though Dyess has done a spectacular job (and much better than Bonner) otherwise.
Yeah DPG, it's "unreal" for a Mavs fan to be upset about an official who the Mavs are winless against unless Dirk goes for 50. How irrational![]()
I can see Dallas winning this game & a couple " pop" threads coming up hahahaa..Will score 17 in the 1st half again? nahhhhhhh
If scores 17 again, Mav fans will go into panic mode. , if scored 17 on anyone they should go into panic mode
Spurs win.
I'll learn to work the saxophone
I'll play just what I feel
Drink Scotch whisky all night long
And die behind the wheel
They got a name for the winners in the world
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide
Call me Deacon Blues
I hate gambling but this would be a good game to bet on the spurs for. I wonder if the odds are much worse due to Danny Crawford being the ref.![]()
I think that I may have assumed, given the amount of calls Matt had going against him in Gm 1 D-ing up Dirk, that he must've repeatedly fell for 'em.
I just remember Dice staying firmly planted more often than not Gm 2.
"What have you done for me lately, Ed-dee?!?" seems to be my mantra come playoff time.
I'm so hoping the Spurs give the Mavs an ass pounding this evening they won't so forget. I'm going to seriously need you Spurs fellows now to head the Suns off at the pass. So lets be good friends.
All my love,
- Your Dad
Come to think of it, z0sa, you're right. I was suddenly flooded w/ images of Matt getting backed down, hands both perfectly straight up in the air, and the ball finding the basket, shot-after-shot-after-shot.
[shudder]
In all seriousness, that breakout game that J-Rich had last night -- ya know, tha one where he started shooting 3s on both baskets to help even things out -- scared the outta me.
