Come to think of it, z0sa, you're right. I was suddenly flooded w/ images of Matt getting backed down, hands both perfectly straight up in the air, and the ball finding the basket, shot-after-shot-after-shot.

Pretty much, sadly. Bonner doesn't have the ref respect or skill to contest consistently without fouling. He basically is a really huge, fairly fast-moving cone for Dirk to shoot over.

The bolded games the other team obviously didn't need Crawford's help. That Blazer game in 2003 has a huge FT discrepancy, but the Mavs shot 37% in that game and the Blazers wanted it more to avoid the sweep.

I had to work during G3 of the Spurs-Mavs in 2003, the game where Dirk got hurt. Quite a huge FT discrepancy, but having not watched this game, I have nothing useful to say about it.

Not saying the other games were unfairly officiated per se, but the bolded ones we can't scream about. So for what it's worth, the last three times he's reffed us, we can't look at him as a factor.

I think the refs have been fine so far in all series with the exception of the hand check rule not applying to Artest......but can we quit using FT disparity as a gauge for refs (not just DPG, but everyone in general), it's the dumbest logic ever. Ever since 2008 when Lakers fans complained about Boston getting more free throws than LA because somehow Leon Powe attacking the basket wasn't supposed to get more free throws than VladRad and Vujacic bricking 3's, the complaining when one team gets more free throws than the other has gotten ridiculous.

There are two ways to interpret that. 1 being that the refs hate SA so bad that they did something that deserved the suspension. There's the other angle that Stern obviously has some kind of respect for the Spurs if he's willing to publicly criticize an official for that call and suspend him. My view is that it's a a stupid egotistical ref who wants to see his face on ESPN so he made a call people would remember.

I agree, I was just making a point that when you complain about refs and get a ton more fts that u look foolish. I have been fine w the officiating. I am even fine with complaining about them. But at least wait until there is something to complain about.
