Game 4 is bigger than Joey, the Spurs have a golden opportunity to "put the clamps" on the Mavs. I don't see them wasting that chance.
Joey Crawford is officiating for Game 4.
Should add another intrigue to the game...

Bring Joey on.....Better to get him at home than on the road.
I was hoping for game 5, but it's better to get him out of the way sooner rather than later.
I eFFin hate that fat bald bas . He better not screw us over. I just hope the Spurs don't even give him that chance. Play hard and smart and the Spurs will be up 3-1 by Monday morning.
If that's true I don't see the big deal. If I remember he was pretty impartial the last go around.
Though the Barry no call still pisses me off but he wasn't alone in that.
Yeah. Refs aren't announced until gameday. I could see it happening though.
Mavs: 1-16 with Danny in the playoffs
Spurs: Always getting screwed by Joey
Stern likes to play these mind games.
I actually slightly misread this post by ESPN's Marc Stein:
"But there's lots for the Mavs to fix even if San Antonio's least favorite referee -- Joey Crawford -- is here to work Game 4."
My mistake, I thought it was a definite. Sorry. Still, Stein makes it sound likely.

Actually, Joey's venom is more specific: Dampier will be able to do whatever he wants to Tim on defense. I'd put the over/under on Tims FTAs at 3. He'll give calls to Manu and Tony, though. He doesn't hate the Spurs, just Tim.
I heard Joey was out late last night trollin San Anton streets lookin for fights
I'd rather have him for game 5 in Dallas. For all of his ego and bitterness, he's unlikely to give one player on the home team more FTs than the entire road team.
If that happens, I may have to stop believing that the system is random.
I'm almost 100% certain that Scott Foster is going to be the crew chief for Game 4.
I've said it before, but here's how I get there. There are 8 crew chiefs in this round. The Spurs and Mavs have seen 3 of them -- Bennett Salvatore, Ken Mauer, and Dan Crawford.
There are 4 other chiefs working the Saturday games -- Joey Crawford, Joe Derosa, Monty McCutchen, and Ed Rush.
I presume to things: (1) the league won't repeat a crew chief in a series within the first 4 games (it hasn't done that for as long as I've paid attention); and (2) the league won't have its officials working back-to-backs in playoffs (it almost never does that).
If both of those things are true, it leaves only one possible chief for Game 4 -- Foster.
It also means that for Game 5 and Games 6 and 7, if they become necessary, the the odds are strong that Joey will be the crew chief; at the very least, assuming the Foster guess is correct, we know that Game 5's lead official will come from a pool consisting of today's chiefs.
For some reason zach zarba was there last night. But he didn't ref. Strange....
They always have to have a back up in case finally dies
They've always had alternates, but this year - for the first time that I can remember - the alternates are out on the floor before games. At the beginning of Game 2, there was a crowd shot on the FSSW feed in which you could see the alternate (Pat Fraher, I think) leaving the floor, too.
You better watch out
You better not shout
It won't be joey tomorrow. He is reffing the Orlando game today.
He will be there for game 5.
Probably Foster tomorrow.
Joey hasn't been that biased against the Spurs (Tim) since Stern slapped him with that suspension, but it IS the playoffs and he IS an ego maniac.
Everyone spam Timmy's mailbox asking not to laugh.. please for the love of God!![]()
Better to get that bald outta the way at home than in Dallas!
don't sweat it. our coach blows.
