I think a lot of players like SA for just that reason. There is no cult of celebrity associated with Spurs players. You feel that they're like a neighbor or a friend of a friend.
My 2 boys and I saw him at HEB plus at 281 and Evans. I didn't see who he was with, but he was guarding two carts of food near the seafood section. Didn't want to start a run on him with the autograph/photo request, he was just shopping like everyone else. I did tell him congrats on the nice game yesterday and wished him good luck for tomorrow. He smiled shyly and said "Thanks". It was cool that people were saying "hi" to him, but not really bugging him.![]()

Bowen used to come into my heb all the time, he was always very friendly with everyone, carlisemo as well.
That boy's really focusing on his defense.
Yeah, but I had to laugh when my seven year old noticed a bag of chips in one of his carts and said as we walked away, "He likes chips just like us."
I saw Mason today on Blanco Rd. in a convertible Bentley. He had the top down with a "why do I suck so bad" look on his face.
I saw George Hill in the sausage section one time.
That's what I was going to say. Most Spurs sightings are at H-E-B, Best Buy, PF Chang's or IHOP.
There's a Whole Foods in the Quarry, who I'm pretty sure I remember someone seeing Matt Bonner at.
Maybe they get a discount on that h-e-b fully cooked brisket, i would of told george to hook me up with som h-e-b wild red.
I remember, back in the day, hitting up Jim's at around 3am after a night of partying and sure as , I'd always run into Antonio Daniels chowing down with a table full of hot chicks.
He's always had good defense. I bet nobody was able to put anything in his kart. Completely shut down everyone.
thats whats funny, EVERYONE in sa has to go to HEB at some point. everyone has to eat/ buy groceries lol.
everyone in SA goes to the HEB nearest to them at least once a week and that includes spurs players/coaches (they are human too)![]()
If I were famous I'd pay somebody to go so I wouldn't get mauled however, the Spurs are like someone said before a neighbor or a friend. So we show them respect and don't bother them when they are out too much. I met Horry once at a club and couldn't help myself I had to shake his hand. Lol.
ive seen other spurs around town but if i saw Horry i would honestly probably fall to my knees in worship bowing my arms up up and down
man.. yall are lucky.. ive only met kevin willis and antonio daniels at a walmart..
oh yeah.. eric williams was cool when he came to san antonio for his short stint with the spurs..
he'd come into the hotel and ask.. 'wheres my homeboy jimmy at?" lol..
reminds you that even the scrubbiest NBA players are still making a bloody LOAD of money and will be set for life beyond what most of us can even imagine
Should of asked to take a pic with his member.
i swear Bogans lives right around me.. saw him in a CL63 AMG at the gas station outside of my neighborhood and then in a range rover a few days later. odd
I can't imagine ever having a smile leave my face if I was rich enough to afford a convertible Bentley. Not that I'd waste my money on that .
