I thought the fould was unnecessary. He didn't throw him down by the shoulders, he threw him down by the throat! Should he get suspended? I say YEAH!

I think on a flagrant 2 you are automaticly suspended for next game.

I believe that's right that an F2 carries an automatic suspension. But the league also reviews the foul calls so it's not unheard of for an F2 to be downgraded to an F1, or visa versa.

edit: then again, what the do i know?

A flagrant foul-penalty (2) is unnecessary and excessive contact committed by a player against an opponent. It is an unsportsmanlike act and the offender is ejected immediately.

The offender will be subject to a fine not exceeding $35,000 and/or suspension by the Commissioner.

Wow I didnt know that...not that Najera is very important since he is not a factor in this series. I would just do not want anyone getting hurt.

no the suspension is not automatic. The league will review the play and decide if a supension is warranted.

I agree. But I think that Rick just threw him in there to "send a message" to the next guy going into the paint. I would rather not risk a players health because a benchwarmer wants more playing time by listening to the coach and being "aggressive".

The funniest part is that the Mavs traded two good players to get Najera back. What a bunch of idiots!

It would be very Low if RC sent Najera to hurt Manu since Najera is not a major factor to the Mavs and RC knowing Najera could've been ejected with a flagrant foul

Even though I think Najera will get suspsended, that's not what concerns me. What I'm worried about is game 5 being a tightly officiated one. If the refs respond to game 4 by using the whistles to tighten up on the physical play, that's a situation that will favor the mavs.
