Was it about the officiating or about this same thing regarding the hispanic community here? Can you give a brief summary of what the discussion was about.

Time to let it go. Sure it was insensitive and sure he is catching some heat. But he was drunk, trying to be funny, and writing in a moment of anger and disappointment on the suckiness of the Mavs. His reputation is forever damaged, but who among us has not said or done something stupid that we wish we could take back. Most of us are fortunate that we didn't work in the media and have this broadcasted throughout the entire nation. That embarassment is punishment enough.

His frustration shouldve been directed at something basketball related, not race related. I wouldve understood if he talked about Spurs players or cried about the officiating but there's no justification for going the way he went. When Im drunk/frustrated I dont belittle black or white people it doesnt work that way. Racism should be a thing of the past especially in the media.

I would he highly surprised if The Ticket made any mention of it, aside from a quick on-air apology from Bacsik. They tend to not bring things like this to light. He's not on air today, and is probably on some type of suspension until this blows over. I doubt he'll be fired over this, but I don't think he'll be back until well after the series is over.

I highly doubt you're going to get much comment from The Ticket today. They tend to handle these things internally for as long as they can, and if he was actually fired or suspended without pay, there may be legal reasons they can't comment.

Public insults of an ethinc group is never a good thing. Whatever racist views he espouses privately should have never been publically aired on social media. He should have directed his venom toward his team, coaches, even the referees - where it belongs.

Today on the same station, The Ticket "DAN MCDOWELL" from BAD RADIO had this to say:

"Get rid off Eddie Najera, they already have one MEXICAN player for their hispanic community in JJ BAREA. They dont need anymore."

Sounds like they took the bashing of Mike Bacsik personal. Their whole show today was about bashing Barea & Najera and unfortunately both are hispanic.

Before anyone starts a bunch of phone calls and emails about that, don't bother. Consider that Dallas station is full of guys and shows that use Hispanic stereotype humor routinely. It's nothing new and has been approved by the station I guess.

It's funny, pretty much ALL of their shows from the morning drive till the drive home (Hardline) do it EXCEPT for Norm's show (the one Mike Bacsik produced). It's acceptable there. I guess if it's on the air, it's been cleared as a "joke", just don't tweet it I guess. :-)

The context of what Dan said had not one thing to do with Bacsik. Nor was it remotely a bashing of Mexicans.

He was commenting on the scrubs that they are and had nothing to do with their heritage. He has no love for tampier(as well as shawn bradley when he played).

Simply put, they are scrubs.
