By "y'all", you mean.... who exactly? Spurs fans? San Antonio citizens? People who read tweets?
Were people really THAT offended by what he said, or was it just a witchhunt because he's a Mavs guy? You guys say worse stuff to each other daily in here.
It was stupid, and I understand the station firing him to avoid the PR backlash - but were y'all actually offended by it?
By "y'all", you mean.... who exactly? Spurs fans? San Antonio citizens? People who read tweets?
In the PC world we live in, the guy had no chance.
You think this had anything with him being a Mavs guy?
You know this spread much further than anything Spurs related, right?
Too bad, so sad.
Think before you tweet.
Yeah..who are you talking about when you say yall? Mexicans? First of all, most of the people in San Antonio aren't Mexicans, we're Mexican-American. That is to say, Americans of Mexican descent. Mexicans are people born in Mexico. You don't call black people Africans do you? So why call us Mexicans? Either way, as a Mexican American, yes I was offended. This goes a lot further than Spurs vs. Mavs. He insulted an entire race. It was inappropriate. There would be a bigger backlash had he said " Congrats to the smelly black people" or "Congrats to the chicken eating black people" or if he was black and said "Congrats to the trailer park white trash". For some reason, making fun of hispanics seems to be more accepted and that's bull . I'm glad he lost his job. The difference between him and the people here is that he gets paid to do that and is listened to by thousands of people.

Thats why i stick to the northside of town.
"I did a horrible thing. I'm very sorry and will try my best for my actions to speak louder than my tweets."Good line.
Damn so was ST one of the first places the firestorm began or were the internets already mad prior to this thread?
Other twitters and blogs caught onto it as well, such as SportsGrind, but this thread was one of the first, and something tells me the 12,000 views on this thread didn't exactly help, especially since SpursTalk shows pretty readily on Google these days.
Can you believe it after the game blogs its longest thread of the real season !
Hes a martyr in my eyes.
I meant the people who were getting so up in arms.
Drinking and tweeting: fired
Doing cocaine at age 57: not fired
The ticket has spoken
Good luck getting another job bag....don't use The Ticket as a reference![]()
I saw it on a couple other message boards the same time.
And actually on the post-game show on The Ticket, Mark Followell and the other host mentioned it right away. They were like, "Did any of you see Bacsik's twitter? Geeze!"
yawall
Good thing we already have some good bacsik and chewbascik drops for the vault.
Prob be a while before we hear them again though.

Musers are discussing this issue this morning...Bacsik ended up getting fired.
That 9:15 segment was some of the most hypocritical bull I've ever heard.
Recap???
Here is the article discussing the firing...
http://sportsmediablog.dallasnews.co...ke-bacsik.html
Blah, blah, blah...it was taken out of context. Basically, "we're" allowed to do this stuff all the time, it's typical for the station, but Bacsik's quote was taken out of context. Those on the "outside" don't understand. Drops are usually cut up to make the original speaker sound silly and awkward. Just your typical, soapbox, hypocritical horse from Gordon.
In what "context", Gordon, is someone saying Dirty Mexicans or truck full of Mexicans acceptable? They know damn good and well what they're doing and it's shameful that they're leaving Bacsik hanging out to dry, alone. Obviously, what he did was wrong, but it's taken 3 days for them to finally nut up and address this and now they're just spewing bull . And why is Gordon speaking up on this? Since when is he the mouthpiece for the station?
I really think it was selective enforcement and they were just looking for a reason to let him go...
If they wanted to can the dude, they would have just done it. It's not like he was the one holding the station together.
