That's what you get for not picking the Habs-Caps series for the 1st time ever
Instead, you went with Boston - Buffalo![]()

Congrats to your team lefty
On to the next round!
Thats is so damn untrue.
You sound just like Wings fans of the past. Sooner or later, youre going to realize...
...here it comes...
....you need to play defense.
I know, amazing.
Boudreau can coach? Back to back G7 losses while enjoying a 3-1 series lead in each, on home ice no less.
You see OV lazy through the neutral zone? Karlsson gliding on the back check on the second goal? Green having literally zero hockey IQ this series?
Where do you think this comes from?
I don't follow hockey, but living in MD on the sportstalk radio shows I listen to at night a few people sometimes call up and talk about the Caps. So who is the favorite now Crosby and the Penguins I guess?
Ov isn't lazy, Carlson made a mistake, and Green needs to GTFO
The Presidents' Trophy is cursed.
you kiddin me? In the east, yes. Overall, no. Every western team has home ice against the east now.
Thanks man
We will face the Penguins
ANd Flyers vs Bruins = Blood![]()
Halak did seem to have a ridiculously hot hand though, didn't he? I didn't catch any of the games, but 50+ saves is pretty insane.
Congrats Lefty! On to the next round.
We got Boston!![]()

Last 3 games (3 wins):
- game 5: 37/38
- game 6: 53/54
- game 7: 41/42
131/134![]()
All teams listed below won the President's trophy and the Cup.
86-87 Oilers
88-89 Flames
93-94 Rangers
98-99 Stars
00-01 Avalanche
01-02 Wings
07-08 Wings
Its hockey, not basketball. Upsets happen every single round, its almost expected.
The #1 seed in basketball will lose to the #8 once in a generation.
In hockey? It happens almost every 2 years. , you should see the #2 vs #7 seeds records...its laughable. The #7 seed wins something like 40% of the time.
Upsets happen. The trophy is not a curse, its just hockey. Any team can beat any team in any game, unlike basketball.
Thanks
Good luck
My predictions:
- Red Wings beat Sharks; sure 200%
- Canucks beat Hawks: sure 90%
- Bruins beat Flyers: sure 90%
- Pens beat Habs: sure 95%
Green took stupid penalties, and the Caps did not adjust for the Habs at all. Hats off to Montreal, they played well and the Caps didn't want it bad enough. Green is not a Norris worthy defenseman. He could be, if he pulls his head out of his ass.
btw...anyone know why they reviewed the goal that Montreal had waved off, but not the caps one early in the third? Not complaining about the call, jus wondering about the review policy.
Would you really want your team to win the trophy given the recent history of it? The team with the trophy has choked in the 1st round the last two seasons.
San Jose doesn't count...they always choke.
Yet three seasons ago the Wings won the Cup winning it and in 2002.
Its a regular season trophy, nothing more, nothing less.
So what? We play better away from Mellon anyway. Just face it...the Stanley Cup will be staying in the same place for another year.
Kris Letang just said that Habs are the favorites
I understand that he repects us, but come on
Lefty...A team is only as good as their goalie and you have the best goalie right now. It's going to be a grinding series but I just think we play a better team game than the Caps did. We get more players involved and don't rely on a puck hog to lead our offense.
The biggest key for us is to get Fleury on track. The Habs don't shoot a lot, but they take smart shots. I have mad respect for what you guys did to the Caps. As a hockey fan, it was a joy to watch your team play.
