Seriously? If that's the case, Suns have a good chance to win. Spurs have no answer for Amare while Lopez may be able to slow down Duncan enough. No big advantage in the backcourt for either team.
No, read my post from above.

Lopez is most likely not gonna see any 2nd round action.

If Lopez doesn't play, I don't think the Suns have a good shot of winning this series. Collins is awful, and Channing Frye is a backup Center, nothing more.

Suns were ranked 19th in def eff in the reg season(pretty awful) but this is probably their best shot to beat the Spurs seeing as SA was ranked 9th in def eff this year(the worst of all the SA teams Phx has played in the post-season).
Best chance? Perhaps. Does that make it a good chance? Probably not. The Spurs are more or less playing like the team we hoped they would be playing like the whole season. In those losses to Dallas, it was like they didn't even show up to the arena...but there's a good grit and toughness we're rolling with right now that I think can finish the Suns off in 5.

I don't think emotions will play much into the actual on court action, not like Mavs/Spurs. Both teams have a lot of new guys that weren't around for those battles, and now it comes down to tempo and execution. Definately a tricky series if we get greedy or overlook stuff, but I think Pop will keep the team in check and we can let all the other Semi-Finals teams knock each other senseless while we just take care of business ASAP.

I'm anxious for this series. I know a lot of Spurs fans expect the Spurs to kill the Suns in this series, but outside of Amare/Nash/Barbosa, a majority of these players are very new to the Suns/Spurs rivalry.

We'll have to chase them all off the 3 point line, because with the way SA has been shooting the 3 ball lately, it's gonna be tough making up the difference in long ball points as Phoenix is one of the top teams in 3 point shooting. Having said that, I believe the Spurs are one of the top teams at defending the 3 point line.

On the bright side for the Suns... JRich, Dudley, Hill, Frye, Dragic, Amundson... I don't think these guys fear the Spurs at all. Amare's never really been intimidated by the Spurs and Popovich usually lets him do whatever he wants.

It's Nash we have to worry about.

I predict Dragic is going to have a coming out party in this series. The Spurs handle Richardson really well. I think Amundson and McDyess will be an interesting matchup, and Dudley and Hill will be huge X factors for Phoenix.

Surprisingly, that hasn't been true this year.

He had a bad game against the Spurs at the start of the year, but he shot really well in the last two matchups of the season (apart from that freak dunk).

After watching JRich single-handedly destroy the Blazers, I expect Popovich to put a lot of defensive pressure on him this series. Hopefully our other guys can pick up the slack.

Good call Xylus, Richardson has shot 15-26 combined, in the last two games against the Spurs. Seeing as how he's on fire right now, the Spurs really do have their work cut out for them.

The two guys I can guarantee won't contribute jack in this series: Amundson and Barbosa. Amundson's bball IQ is so low and his fundamentals are so poor that Duncan, McDyess and Blair would all be able to take him to the cleaners if he's guarding one of them. We all know Barbaro's history against the Spurs.

And Doris. Watching Doris and Shawna ruin the playoff hopes of their respective teams has made the playoffs great.

Amare is guaran-sheed at least 30 pts./game this series.

As long as the Spurs get back on transition D and stay home on the 3-point shooters, I like the Spurs chances.

I posted it in a thread in the Spurs forum but George Hill could be a HUGE part of the series. If they put Grant Hill on George Hill then Nash is stuck on Parker. Parker really takes Nash apart. If they put Grant Hill on Parker and Nash on Hill that's also a huge mismatch. It's a big decision. I think we know barbosa can't guard hill. What about Richardson?

Lopez is most likely not gonna see any 2nd round action.
Actually, Hollinger doesn't have a clue what he's talking about.

As DOK said, barring any setbacks, Robin Lopez is going to rejoin Suns' practice fully on Friday or Saturday, and will have his weekly Monday reevaluation at which time he will be cleared to return to game action.

He should be the Suns' starting center for Game 1.

The only thing the Suns are concerned about is his conditioning, but that will be something they'll have to let him work through no matter when he returns.
