Lefty...A team is only as good as their goalie and you have the best goalie right now. It's going to be a grinding series but I just think we play a better team game than the Caps did. We get more players involved and don't rely on a puck hog to lead our offense.

The biggest key for us is to get Fleury on track. The Habs don't shoot a lot, but they take smart shots. I have mad respect for what you guys did to the Caps. As a hockey fan, it was a joy to watch your team play.
    Thanks for the kinds word

Pens have a great goalie too; FLeury can be inconsistent, but he is a clutch mofo, he makes key saves when it matters the most.

My coworker happens to know Fleury's girlfriend very well; she told her that he is very nervous about playing in Montreal (because has family there)

I love watching the Pens; Crosby is a talented superstar who also plays like a 4th liner; he grinds, battles for the puck, works hard on D.
Washington is just an offensive team; the Pens may have less snipers but they have a better balance: offense, D, goaltending, toughness, team play.
Actually, their players that scare me the most are guys like Talbot and Dupuis

As a Wings fan, I agree wholeheartedly. Crosby doesn't scare me the least bit...Malkin and those damn 3rd/4th line players do.

So what? We play better away from Mellon anyway. Just face it...the Stanley Cup will be staying in the same place for another year.
I'm sure Bettman would love that..and I am sure he is telling the refs the same thing as well.

Didn't the Red Wings win the Presidents' Trophy in 2006? How did that work out for them? A first round exit courtesy of the Edmonton Oilers. All I'm saying is that I wouldn't want my team to win that trophy.

Ummm.....those same Oilers lost game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Funny what happens when a goalie has an unbelievable run, huh? They would have probably won the cup if he didn't kill his knee in the 1st game.

Chris Lee is officiating game 1 of Pens-Habs

For those who don't know who him, Chris Lee is a horrible ref who absolutely HATES the Montreal Canadiens

Pens win game 1; book it

    Big time

But Cooke took Markov down in the 1st period (clean hit)

We may not see Markov for the rest of the series

Same with Staal, although last update I read was that he could return but will be out for game 2 for sure.

I was pretty upset with our 5 on 5 play, but can't complain about the power play. If the Habs can control their penalties then this could be a long series. If we continue with 4+ power plays a game, well, it could be over quickly.

It sucks that both teams have lost key players

The good news for Pittsburgh is that they have more depth than the Canadiens, but his absence could hurt them in the later rounds

You are right about the 5 on 5, as the Habs led 2-1 in game 1

Game 3 is a must win for the Sharks. Please win and don't let Detroit have any hope of getting back in the series.

10 powerplays for San Jose (two 5on3s).

    4 for the Wings.

    Way to go, refs.

I wonder what its like for a San Jose fan to know it takes the opposing team to play an entire period of hockey on the PK to win by one goal?

San Jose realizes, I hope, that once the refs arent involved in this series, youre done right?

Youre winning on getting every favorable call one can get, from the refs (how many 5on3s?) and the Gods (Lidstrom's stick).

These things tend to balance. Have fun at the Joe!

    I agree.

It was a sad display of BS officiating

The Sharks beraly won the 1st 2 games; nothing impressive
