One single game sure as isn't enough to do it.
If the Suns lose this series to an underdog, then I'll be rightly pissed at Gentry. For now, I'm withholding judgment.
I have to admit that I think we have an advantage with McMillan here.

The only thing that will fix your franchise is for Sarver to sell the team DOK.
That is your only hope...
I don't want Gentry's head on a stick, but he did get out coached this game, especially throwing a home game to a severely undermanned team. Portland did an excellent job adapting their D, but the suns coaching staff should've figured out something to erase a 1 point deficit at half time. They now have to win a game in Portland which is going to be rough.
Alvan Gentry is a clone of Mike D'antoni, and he was a terrible playoff coach, so I'm not sure why you guys thought Gentry would be any different.
cause he was a spur coach for a while
Doesn't change the fact he's no different than Mike D'antoni.
I think he's worse than dantonio
Yeah in some ways he is. They both like defenses that leave shooters open and also like not holding players accountable.
LOL why are you going to waste your time like that? Get a life.
Gentry is the best coach we've had since Danny Ainge.
DOK is the worst poster in the history of spurs talk. I sooo wish he wasnt a Suns fan.
Please, you were all delicate and moist early in the season, da....
"Oh, Cubby, we stink."
"Oh, Cubby, tell us what to do."
"Oh, Cubby, Sose should let you back in."
"Oh, Cubby, we're O & 41 and we deserve O & 42."
Scott Skiles was the best coach the Suns have had since Westphal (who wasn't that great of a coach either). Granted, he probably wouldn't have worked well with Nash, but I still regret them firing him. I loved his intensity, he can flat-out coach, and holds his players accountable.
He has his team playing well. They went into Portland and crushed them. Twice. That is incredibly difficult to do.
He SHOULD let you back in.![]()
It'll never happen, da. He holds a grudge forever.
being the best Suns coach since Westphal or Ainge being some kind of accomplishment (regardless JMJ is right Skiles > Gentry). Congrats to Alvan, he's a better coach than Frank Johnson!
The whole "fire Gentry" thing was reactionary to a terribly coached game several months ago, but if Barbosa plays more minutes than Dragic against the Spurs (I'm still awed that Barbosa played more minutes against Portland) and Barbosa plays against the Spurs like he did in 2007 and 2008, there will be no excuses for why it happened.
My big beef with Gentry is he's simply too nice. There's not enough accountability with him.
