Wheres the Winged Helm thing he wears?
Here is the 1st picture of Chris Hemsworth (Kirk's dad in Star Trek) as the le character Thor for the upcoming movie in 2011
I'm glad they kept the design pretty close to the source material.

i was reading about this the other day
ty casting. the dude from 13th Warrior, Bulwyf, should have been Thor.

Triple H would've been a good Thor as long as it required ty acting.
All marvel movies should star no-name actors imo. Holding out hope for this movie.
I agree this guy was perfect but I guess they thought he was too old most likely.
Could have done worse. Side note, The Losers totally sold me on Chris Evans as Cap. Dat physique.
Anthony Hopkins as Odin? I'm sold
LOL...
I forgot about that movie till I saw the mechanic, Thor. That was a fun family movie.
How about the real Thor:

Not every comic book character needs a movie. This will be one of them.

It looks awesome, Kenneth Branagh was the perfect director for this film

Looks awesome
Except for Loki, I dont know who the other villains are.
Hemsworth looks too young - doesn't seem to have the weight/chops behind the performance to make it believable.
I could neever figure out why D'Onofrio wasted his time with that awful Law & Order spinoff. That show was basically Columbo in a Law & Order framework. Pretty bad imo.
Am I the only one that doesn't see it anymore? YouTube's taken all theirs down, too.
Hopkins played in that ty Werewolf movie, doesnt mean its gonna be good
But as Odin? Yes
Odin is a mean mofo, should be interesting
Agreed.
Love the casting of Hopkins though. That voice was made for old school King like in Beowulf.
Laugh all you want, but I think Dolph Lundgren would have made a badass Thor
After watching it again to me it looks too much like a Roger Corman or SyFy B-movie. I've read a lot of people saying how epic it looks but aside from a couple way too obviously CG-looking shots of Asgard most of the shots are too close to characters faces or from angles that minimize scale instead of taking advantage of it.
I've never been very impressed Kenneth Brannaugh's directing (although I freely admit to a bias because of my longstanding worship of Emma Thompson) but this seems much less epic than the trailer for Portman's last comic inspired movie V for Vendetta.
From this trailer all I get is that this is just a variation on Spiderman 1 - with great power comes great responsibility - only this time instead of a geek the main character is a petulant spoiled prince who has fallen from grace and aside from the occasional temper tantrum has zero emotional range. Wonderful.
This has Spiderman 3 bad written all over it.
