Damn straight he is. Kidd also played way too many damn minutes in the regular season and looked even slower than usual in the playoffs. Having a slow ass guard is just too much of a liability in this era of lightning fast guards. Only LA can get away with that and they look more vulnerable than ever imo.

    Bill Simmons take recently:

    156. Jason Kidd

Five games, 32.5 percent FG, 45 points total and five made 2-pointers as the Spurs have hugged him on the 3-point line and dared him to drive. On the other end, he can't stay in front of any quick guards ... which has been the case for three years, but still. And if that's not enough, he made Roddy Beaubois the fourth-most popular person in Dallas behind Dirk Nowitzki, Tony Romo and the guy who pooped on the floor of Bennett Salvatore's steakhouse in Stamford, Conn. (OK, that didn't happen. Yet.) Did I miss anything? I'm pretty sure Dallas could have gone 1-3 in playoff series from 2008 to 2010 had they just kept Devin Harris, two No. 1s and the extra $10 million. Almost positive. One of the biggest games of Kidd's career Thursday night.

A three year hindsight. Can't beat that with a great big stick.

He might have been garbage on the Nets, but in the end if having Harris playing like garbage helps the Nets in whatever way to a le in a couple years It's all good. I feel bad for you Mav fans 10 50 win seasons and nothing to prove. Mavs remind me of the Nets back in the last full season with Kidd, good, but not good enough to win it all, but I hear Mav fans bragging about 50 win seasons, guess most think that is better then a finals

Harris is better than Kidd NOW. In all honesty when Mavs had Devin, he was one of the main players I feared because I thought he was just as quick as TP and we had no answer for him defensively. With Kidd the Spurs didn't really have to worry about guarding him too much.

Harris is better than Kidd now?

I'm sure you closely followed the 12 win Nets this year to reach that conclusion, right?

Kidd had a much better and more consistent year than Harris. Harris took a giant step backward this season but nobody realized it because the nets were so ty.

Spurs fans are shooting their own feet when deriding other teams on the topic of bad trades, because it's the team named San Antonio Spurs that made the famous-most epic fail trade of the past decade. Is Luís Scola better than Vasillis Spanoulis? probably Vasillis is better in international tournaments but "Vasillis better than Scola" has never happened in NBA, and never will...

Dallas cashed out their future to win now. Better pray Dirk stays, we'll see how important money is to him. Of course the same goes for the Suns and Amare.

Actually, some of us saw this coming when the trade went down. As for the 12 win Nets, you can't do much when your front office is blwoing up the team around you. Harris has been pretty damn good.

Harris is better than Kidd for the Mavericks.. now.. and always has been.

The 2 players I've feared the most in a Mavericks team have been Howard and Harris, we just couldn't stop them. Those 2 were the reason we lost some series to the Mavericks in the playoffs. If you fail to realize that Harris was better for your team, well then it seems you never actually watched the truth behind your wins.

I guess it's ok to be bitter about him being with the Nets now and you just lost in the first round with Kidd... but switch Harris with Kidd, and Howard with Butler, and I think the Mavs win this easy.

You know, 'cause Dirk doesn't have a ring and Robert has a lot.

I love JKidd but his game just doesn't translate to playoff success. He's both an offensive and defensive liability. Harris wouldn't of been either. Yeah 4 straight playoff outings is enough for me to say with confidence that I would love to have our young speedy point guard and 1st round picks back.

harris is a low % scorer. granted, kidd wasn't the answer either, but neither was harris. Beaubois > Harris right now, and after he develops some more it won't even be a discussion.

Hey Ghazi calm down. I stand by what I said. I'd rather have Devin Harris than Kidd now. Do you actually think Kidd would have made those same Nets much better? And like I said Harris scared me much more than Kidd on the Mavs. So GFY.

Harris has been terrible, dunno what Spurs fans are smoking. 40% shooting when your only job is scoring is pretty terrible. Harris > Kidd only applies against the Spurs where he turns into an all-star and shoots 50%. Exactly like Josh Howard.

Nobody takes Harris/Howard over Kidd/Butler if they have any goal of beating anyone other than the Spurs. The Mavs didn't need more scrub role players and TBH, they still have too many. Fact is, having a bunch of Spurs-killers on the roster doesn't make you good.

What that team really needs is a slasher in their roster as a number 2 role. Get rid of dead-weight like Marion or half of the jump shooters to make it happen. Either way, they already have a fast guard in that rookie, making Harris is redundant.

No one watches the Nets, so they don't realize how mediocre Devin Harris has been. They only remember being torched by him a long time ago.
