It seems like people have not been paying attention to the Suns. They have been playing the best ball in the NBA over the last month going into the playoffs. Then in the playoffs, they rip 2 wins off in Portland. That is incredibly difficult to do, even if they have injuries.

Their defense has improved and they shot lights out from three point land. This is not your average Suns team.
This is one of the reasons why I believe they will beat the Spurs. This team doesn't look like the Suns teams that got eliminated by the Spurs a few times in the past decade. Their defense has improved and it's scary when you still have one of the most high powered offenses in the league. This won't be easy as some other people think it is for the Spurs.

It's not defeatist. It is being realistic about the problem areas. That does not mean the Spurs can't/won't win.

Yup...if you watched much Pistons basketball, you'd know that Sheed is a pretty damn good 3-point shooter for a big.

You really think the Spurs can win three in a row for the second straight series? I think if the Suns win Game 1, they're in great shape--no worse than 2-2 heading into Game 5. I just don't see the Spurs beating them 3 games in a row if the Suns win Game 1.

I like all the suns fans here (except for da_suns_fan), so it's hard to do anything but talk basketball. I wish you all good health, and may your team lose in embarrassing fashion.

As far as tonight is concerned, i think the Spurs can drop this one and still win the series (it'd be much tougher though). I think the suns pretty much have to take this game if they want to win the series. It'd be too much of a mental rape job if they drop the opening game...at home.
We lost home court in Game 1 in 2007 and still were able to tie the series at 2 heading into Game 5.

JRich is the X-factor for the SUNS imo. Can he score when Amare gets mentally bludgeoned in the paint and Nash shrinks on the perimeter? JRich needs to continue to play like a front-runner instead of an anti-clutch non-factor.
Relying on Hill or Duds to score is a mistake because those two are going to have be monumental on defense.

I agree with the poster who said that the SUNS need to take the first two gms at home.
It'll be interesting to see how the SPURS defend Amare initially.

I picked the SPURS in 7 games....but i'm picking the SUNS to win big tonight.
    Who's Nash gonna guard? LMAO

Thanks TNT for that quick run down on what happened in the Suns Spurs series in 2007 and 2008. I needed a reminder

In all seriousness, I've got no idea how this is going to turn out. Never been so excited and nervous about a game I'm watching.
