The Bonner-Mason-Bogans line-up was great...NOT. I think it was just Pop trying to find a damn combination of players who worked...nothing to read into TOO much.

Yeah I know. People are actually slamming Pop for not giving Mahinmi more minutes during the playoffs. Unreal.
How is Bonner any better than Ian? Bonner is killing us.

Beginning of the 4th, I thought he threw in the towel. Then I see Manu is out there. But then why is Mason and Bogans out there together? Then Pop brings everyone back. That was a weird game.

I'm still a little nervous about TD's knee. It looks like he's ok but man, I'm holding my breath until Wednesday.

I could care less we lost tonight. We weren't gonna sweep them. As long as TD's knee is good, I love our chances against this team. Their defense sucks ass.

These are good points and I agree with it all. I'm just not sure saying their defense sucks is enough to be that confident...I mean, as long as they stay hot on offense, it really doesn't matter that their defense blows, we still need to limit them. Phoenix is a type of team that can beat anyone without playing defense.

Give our guys a chance to adjust. Nash and Grant Hill are both two years older than TD. They played inspired ball tonight. But let's see how their bodies react as this series goes every other day. And it's only going to get more physical. This series is gonna push their bodies to the limit. Richardson and Stoudemire are gonna get theirs. But I really have no doubt the Spurs can match them, basket for basket.

What I do know is that Pop is gonna get our defense straightened out. And hopefully, that will happen on Wednesday night.

But you can't just use age numbers in that way...sure Nash is older than Duncan, but he's way more durable, his agility is crazy...did you see how he moved tonight all while having George Hill on him? Hill is so much younger and extremely athletic, yet Nash gave him , which shows how much his age really matters. Duncan is way more injury prone and limited physically in his playing style by his age. Nash plays inspired ball every night.
However, I think we can limit Richardson. He isn't that good, we just need to make sure a hand is in his face when he's beyond the arc and take away his 3 ball, effectively turning him into Richard Jefferson.

She needs to start one with how many cute replies like this come in defense of Pop's decisions.

So you, and others on this thread that are laughing this off, are okay with our coach standing with his arms crossed watching a team we're playing in the western conference semis rattle off a 14-2 run to close out a quarter without so much as calling a 30 second timeout.

I think the lack of timeouts had to do with saving them for crunch time. After their 'big' run it was still a 10 point game.

Blair could play more the suns are small, and most of their bigs are not real threats offensively and Blair has that energy makes happen, kinda like Manu.

Gentry called timeout as soon as we started our run. I don't like that playing through the run bit, we need to stop their momentum before it gets out of hand.

The formula is in direct proportion to the number of losses the Spurs have.

Maybe Georgie isn't ready to guard Nash. Nash is a two time MVP because of his offensive exploits. He has years of experience on Hill. But then again, it's just one game. I'm not sure why everyone is panicking. If we lose game two, then maybe we begin to panic a little.

But I know what I saw. The Suns played great and their intensity level was much higher than the Spurs. The Spurs looked like they were trying to feel out the Suns at the beginning. Then they picked it up, played well at times. But then they'd miss open shots or miss rebounds or defensive assignments.

Let's see what happens tomorrow night. I think the Spurs come out ready to play.

14-2 run to end the quarter by Phoenix.

    * Bonner in at "center"
    * No timeouts during the entire run

    Nice work, Popdamnit.
You obviously saw a different game than I did.
    <-----

His small ball lineup is what brought you back into the game being down 10 to start the 4th quarter. Why would you NOT want him to use the lineup that brought you back into the game?

I saw George Hill miss a couple of wide open 3's to end the game when you were in striking distance. 3's that he made in the Dallas series.

Pop did a great job of adjusting in this game, even in a loss IMO.
