Spurs had a great first qtr, but couldn't keep it up.

Hill seems to be a first-round flash in the pan.

Has temple passed Mason in the rotation?
Yes. He gets to sit closer to the Gatorade.

-Horrible decision to start Hill..the Spurs jumped off to a strong start in spite of Hill's poor play, he was horrible..having Parker on early certainly would have made a difference and opened up a lead for the Spurs..

Having Hill vs. the Suns bench would have been a much better matchup for him..

-Blair-Bonner frontcourt hurting the Spurs, as usual..they got manhandled by Amundson and Dudley, which is pathetic(Dudley is a good player, but those 2 are supposed to be "bigs")..Bonner is soft as usual, Blair showing low IQ, as usual..

-Jefferson's defense was beyond horrible, even worse than usual..missing rotations everywhere, sad to see that he isn't focused in such a big game..Dudley manhandled him as well..

-Pop played Bogans/Bonner/Blair for way too long..McDyess needs to be playing with Blair, Pop needs to stop saving his minutes, there's nothing to save for at this point..the Spurs are on pace to be eliminated soon..

-This is looking like I predicted, Suns in 6..they have too many weapons for the Spurs to handle..

Dice needs to show us more of those crucial tap outs that we saw against Dallas. 13 offensive rebounds is just unforgivable.

Defense still needs work in terms of the PnR, but getting shots around the rim might help his confidence. He's got to stay attacking.

We would have been up 20+ in the first quarter if Hill had his ass glued to the bench...cushion would have been bigger for Pop's idiotic 3B's move...
    Hill +/- is 0.

I can't understand the hate on Hill.
He's playing great but he's not the problem.

Nash has 6 points 3/7 FG with 4 assist at the half.I will take 12-8 from him every game of the series.Hill's D wasn't so bad as some people say

That's why I wanted to break up the Big 3 into tandems to start the game, starting with Tim and Tony. You spread out the trash (Bogans and Bonner), don't leave Manu to waste minutes not getting on track while they pound it into Tim, and then you've got the ability to let Manu come in after getting a read on the game and allow him to run the point to get RJ, and maybe even Blair off.

Now we've got Tim rolling pretty decent and Tony looking alright, but Manu's still looking to find his rhythm and the Suns are back in the game because Pop's rotation led him to play Bogans, Bonner and Blair at the same time; without that lineup the Spurs are up 10 (because that second unit killed them on the glass -- which is what happens when you've got Blair, Bonner and Bogans trying to man the defensive glass).

We held Phoenix to 34% from the field, 36% from 3-pt land, and yet we couldn't capitalize, blew a double-digit lead and allowed them to tie the game at halftime.

LOL, if Phoenix scrubs can wipe us out on the boards, imagine what Gasol, Bynum and Odom will do to us.

But the offensive rebounds are the bigger problem. You can't let a team get 11 more shots and think you're going to win.
They didn't get 11 more shots than us. They were +11 on offense boards leading to points. They had 5 more FG attempts and 8 more FT attempts. Obviously 13 offensive rebounds in one half to this tiny team is unacceptable, but let's stick to the facts.

As poorly as that 2nd quarter ended up, if you would have told me tie game at the half this morning, I'd take it.

    LET'S DO THIS SPURS!!!

    Spurs role players have choked.

Suns are playing great, but these Spurs have played like as a whole and let the Suns off the hook. I don't think it's all from the Suns, 50% is on the Spurs themselves. Pop too.

Suns are shooting 35% at halftime. I wouldn't consider that great. I was just making a joke at how terrible Barbosa is.

It's worse than that. I think we held them to under 25% on first shot attempts. That ought to be a blowout.
