Do you really think that's a logically honest argument? Would an NBA team with Dirk as the alpha dog enjoy more success than an NBA team with Manu as the alpha dog? Obvious answer.
Well yea except Dirk is like 0-12 when it comes to that regard and Manu is 0-0. When given the opportunity to be alpha dog though Manu has been more succesful than Dirk, is that not true?
cool!!!

No Manu hasn't done jack as an alpha dog in the NBA. Dirk has at least led a team to the finals, a WC championship, gotten a MVP, led the Mavs to 10+ seasons of 50+ wins......
All of these things Manu couldn't do.
at this even being an argument. Only spurfans.
Spurfans have gotten even worse once now that their teams blows. They have nothing else to do but talk about what their team did in the past, and make up random arguments that no other fans will side them on. Next up is Manu > Kobe.
This Manu vs Dirk argument is so ing re ed, get it in your heads Manu>Dirk! Spurs>every other team, Cuatros Anillos, Maricons!!
lol @ including a WC championship and an NBA Finals trip which are the exact same thing on Dirk's list (or lack therof) of accomplishments.
again noone is saying Manu>Dirk, this is all in response to people saying Manu was nothing more than an "irreplaceable fragile yolk" and that he simply rode Duncan's coattails...or that a prime Manu, who in his prime was the 2nd best SG in the league, wouldnt be able to be an alpha dog of a respectable playoff team. which again is less than dirk who has led to his team to be le contender, but not astronomically less.
pretty impossible to make that comparison given the positions they both play...but a team of equal talent contructed around manu would not be astronomically worse than a team of equal talent constructed around dirk like you and the dirk slobbers imply.
you should probs get an idea of what the argument is about before commenting on it![]()
That is true. It doesn't mean that Manu is better than Dirk, but it's true.
You're a ing joke and not because you think that your boy Manu is better than Dirk. You're just a pathetic homer with one digit iq so you can keep dreaming.
You're a joke because your basketball knowledge is laughable and I'm 100% sure you don't know what you are talking about when it comes to National Teams.
You just played the Kaman card.LOL.But you forgot to mention that Kaman played with Germany NT only for one compe ion.
It's easy to fool some American dudes who don't know about European bball and have never watched Germany NT in action.
But I guarantee you, every European laughs his ass off with your weak arguments.
Manu won the gold medal here in Athens.
Argantina had a good rotation of 8-10 players.
Ginobili,Nocioni,Scola,Hugo,Delfino,Wolkowyski,Obe rto,Hermann,Pepe and Prigioni.
All these players are easily better than the 3rd best German player in Dirk's era.
Manu,Scola,Nocioni,Delfino,Hermann and Prigioni are easily better than the 2nd best player of Germany NT.
Germany NT was Dirk,Okulaja and a sack full of .
Not to mention that Okulaja was a huge injury prone.Good player(for European standards) with good level of athleticism but he declined fast due to his knee problems.
Nevertheless, with this weak team,Dirk gave 2 medals to Germany(a silver in Eurobasket 2005 and a bronze in World Championship 2002).Hands down, huge accomplishments for a ty team like Germany.
You're saying all the time like ''wow,Argentina won the gold medal and Manu led them in a win over USA''.
Yes,it's a big accomplishment but that US Team was the 2nd worst in country's history(only better than the 2002 in Indianapolis one;1998's US Team was a complete joke with guys like Trajan Langdon,''Blue'' Edwards and Wendell Alexis lol).
Bottomline,Manu led one of the best international basketball teams the last 10 years to a gold medal in 2004,a silver in Indianapolis and a bronze in Beijing.
Dirk led one team which isn't even in the Top8 in Europe to a silver medal in Eurobasket 2005 and a bronze medal in Indianapolis.
PS:Just for the record, something more about Manu's Euroleague ''greatness'' that you are very proud of:
Manu won the Euroleague in 2001 but I wonder if you know all the facts about that season.
That Euroleague season did not feature all the best European teams because some of them opted to compete in the FIBA ''Suproleague''.
Panathinaikos Athens,Maccabi Tel Aviv,CSKA Moscow(all 3 teams are dynasties in Europe) and Efes Pilsen didn't play in the same compe ion with Ginobili's Kinder Bologna.
Congrats for the Euroleague Manu.
The next year(2002) was Manu's last season in Europe.Euroleague was in ''full-strength'' after last season's break.
The final-four took place in Bologna(hometown of Kinder).
Kinder was the big favorite because of their very strong team(Ginobili,Jaric,Rigaudeau,Griffith along with all the best young talent in Europe:Smodis,Becirovic and Andersen) and the homecourt.
The final was between Kinder and Panathinaikos Athens(the underdog of the final-4).Manu had a great game but:

lol That would explain it. Everyone on the team is free to criticism imo. Dirk's game 4 meltdown, Barea's MVP performance for the Spurs, and etc. I wish I could stop myself from going there. It's like a bad drug. You know it sucks but you are hooked anyways.
Your obsession with Refs is abnormal. Get over it putz.![]()
Regardless of who the better player is, I would think that Ginobili would be the better alpha dog, you would think a player like him would run the court better. That's not even trying to say anything bad against Nowitzki, it's just a styles thing with me.

I can always count on Dirk being Dirk.
God dammit. Mavsfan1000 stupidly bumped this thread and got all the re s started again.
Not my intentions but to point out the s at that site. But this topic keeps getting off topic. They really just want to argue with someone it seems. I say Dirk is not at fault against the Spurs. A couple posts later they interpret it as I said Dirk was to blame.
there's way more s over here than over there.
I used to post over there a lot, now I only go over there occasionally. I remember them kicking Ghazi out because he kept saying "no big deal here, just beating a team we're supposed to beat" and that made them ing furious for some reason![]()
poor ghazi's butt hurts
