Pop would be wise to avoid an extended dose of Blair/Bonner combo in the 2nd half
That didn't kill us this time around.....not saying that it won't hurt us in the future, but the FT's and collapses on D have been murder. Props to the Suns for keeping the pressure on, now SA has to respond.

The "team" is letting us down. There always seems to be one or two guys who are significantly dogging it. So, will Parker get lit up by Nash, will Frye and Richardson bomb away from 3 or will it be Amare on the pick and roll or sill the Spurs decide to to play these three plays straight up.

So, now that the game is tight, what are the odds that Bonner is still hitting in the second half?

They don't need him if he's playing like . And he is. I'd rather have Blair or even RAIN DANCE out there since they're actually trying.

So you'd rather give up a layup/dunk to Nash/Amare than daring guys like Frye try and beat the Spurs? Yeah, the Suns are shooting over 40% from downtown right now, but it's mainly Richardson who has been killing us.
    3 > 2

With these Suns the 3pt shot is pretty much going in, just take a look at some of the 3's they made tonight. They're so confident shooting the three it's terrifying.

Blair was hustling and Bonner was hitting his 3's. They actually did decent this game and helped greatly to get that big lead.
Blair/Bonner combo meaning both of them on the court at the same time.

Suns have eaten us alive when they've been our two bigs.

I have no problem with either player...they're ballin.

Yep. That's how teams make runs by exploiting an advantage. Brilliant.
That is not what I said. All teams naturally go on runs. But the Spurs are allowing the same thing to happen all of the time against the suns. They are defending the 3 PT line poorly.

Suns would still make runs no matter what, but the Spur have to run them off the 3 PT line.

If you look at the stats Frye, Richardson and Dudley have been hitting the three all season. Its not like they just got hot against us and can expect to go cold.

It is scary however that Steve Nash was only 2-8 with 3 assists. Can't let him go off in the second half.

I'd be confident too if I were left wide open beyond the arc all night long, all series long. This series is like an extended 3-point shooting drill for the Suns.

IMHO, that dare has yet to pay any real dividends to this point. I'd trust the defense in the paint, even playing one-on-one more than scrambling at the guys they have shooting it behind the arc.

This has to be the least satisfying 6 point halftime lead ever.
    No .

We hold a team that has averaged 110 for the series to 44 points. The D looked really good for the most part. I got no complaints there.

Who is going to step up for the Spurs in the second half offensively though? Our guys have got to hit open shots shots (RJ!) and sink goddamn free throws. Tony Parker... what is the point of getting to the line if he's going to revert to the his pre-Chip days and clank free throws like he's Timmy? Why do we play Matt Bonner after he hits two threes if he's not going to get another touch?

Sort this out and we kick the crap out of the Suns. GO SPURS!

This game should be tied right now; the 6-point lead is fool's gold. Matt Bonner made 2 consecutive three pointers in a playoff game ... there's your fluky 6 point difference. The bottomline is that we are unable to stop their pick and roll offense; repeatedly collapsing and leaving the shooters open. Meanwhile, all the Suns have to do is double TD and challenge someone to make a 3, or just foul Duncan and force him to shoot free throws.

Not even Alvin Gentry can this up.
    sure

thats why the spurs cant just automatically slow it down and run half court sets

and thats where we could use RJ

thats how we beat the Lakers in the regular season. the moment we get a rebound, Jefferson needs to sprint his ass downcourt and take it to the hole

    we'll be alrite

Yup. When you look at the box score, it is hard to see how they are still so close.
