I wouldn't be surpise if every spurs fan here says the suns.
I know the Spurs aren't eliminated, but it's quite unlikely that they can come back from down 0-3 ... so, assuming they don't pull off the comeback, and neither does the Jazz ... who would you rather have in the Finals, the Lakers or Suns?
The Lakers have the Spurs' fans most respect-born hatred, I believe, just because of the history between the franchises (the best of the 2000's), but the Suns are really annoying this year ... I really can't decide who I'd rather see lose.
I guess it's win-win ... or lose-lose.
it, I don't want to see the Lakers in the Finals again. And I think whoever comes out of the East can beat Phoenix.
I wouldn't be surpise if every spurs fan here says the suns.
A B L.
Especially since Phil got there. If it's say Pat Riley or Bill Sharman or Jack Kent Cooke...then I'd be fairly okay with it.
If the Spurs are eliminated, all I'd like to see in the WCF is an epic 7-game series like Bulls/Celtics, Spurs/Mavs, Spurs/Pistons, Lakers/Blazers, Lakers/Kings, Lakers/Pistons (88), Lakers/Celtics (84), etc.
Lakers because they're the best team.
Suns are a good jump shooting team that are playing above their heads. If they continue their hot streak, hat's off to them. But I've got a feeling that the Lakers power game will expose them and crack their confidence.
And the Lakers can do that because they're the better team, and not a one trick pony.
BTW, Lakers were #1 in 3 point FG defense (%) this year.
Lakers Advantage: Size
Three Lakers are averaging 10 or more rebounds through the first two games of their second-round playoff series against the Jazz, the first time that's happened since the Trail Blazers did it back in 1985.
"Every team has one big guy," said Charles Barkley , a former NBA standout who now serves as an analyst for TNT. "But when you have two big guys who are athletic like (Pau) Gasol and (Andrew) Bynum , it becomes like a tip-toe volleyball game.

Gee, I wonder who the Lakers want.![]()
That's easy. Lakers.
The Lakers and Spurs own the West. Why change now ? The Lakers will crush the little Phoenix team. They have heart and good shooters but their hot shooting will die out and they will be dominated on the inside by Gasol, Bynum and Artest.
You see it happen every year. A team gets hot and then they run into a matchup problem and it all goes away.
Orlando vs Cleveland will be epic. I think its going to be LA against one of those teams and it will be a great series.
At least Phoenix can say they got by the big bad Spurs. --> At least the jerseys are the same. That should be enough for them to feel good about themselves.
The Spurs have some work to do to right the ship. We've got some nice pieces but not enough. Tim is still a good player but his body has broken down and he can't move like he used to. He needs alot of help.
RJ needs to go but I doubt anyone would take him.
Gone: Mahinmi, Mason, Bonner, Bogans and maybe Parker via trade. We need to move him for two mid range salary players. Bring in Splitter, a tall small forward and maybe another point guard.
Keep: Manu, Tim, Hill, Blair, Splitter and build around that if you can.
How do the Spurs own the west when they're about to get swept?
I wouldn't mind seeing the Suns win it all TBH
honestly i expect it to be a great wcf. the sun have been playing good, they have a toughness that the mavs and spurs lack, and they can score with the best of them (us)
should be a barn burner series
It doesnt matter cuz Cleveland will beat'em both!
2009 Lakers - Champs (West) vs Orlando
2008 Celtics - Champs vs Lakers
2007 Spurs - Champs (West) vs Cleveland
2006 Heat - Champs vs Dallas
2005 Spurs - Champs (West) vs Pistons
2004 Pistons - Champs vs Lakers
2003 Spurs - Champs (West) vs Nets
2002 Lakers - Champs (West) vs Nets
2001 Lakers - Champs (West) vs Sixers
2000 Lakers - Champs (West) vs Pacers
1999 Spurs - Champs (West) vs Knicks
In the last 11 years, with the exception of 2006, either the Lakers or Spurs represented the West in the Finals. Why change now. That's pretty impressive.
Hey, if Phoenix wins, more power to them. I just like the Spurs / Lakers history.
It's time to change history. I did not expect the Suns to get past round 1, but they are playing great team basketball. If they win the series against the Spurs, the rest is all gravy. I don't see them beating the Lakers, but I did not see them leading the Spurs 3-0 either. The more people underestimate the Suns, the more motivated they are going to get. When Robin Lopez returns to the lineup, they are not going to be the 'little team' anymore. They will still have to contend with Gasol-Bynum twin towers and the rest of the Lakers team, but they have shown a lot of heart. May be they can overcome the Lakers. My pick: Suns 4-3 against Lakers.
We were out for revenge against the Mavs and beat them.
The Suns were out for revenge against the Spurs and beat us.
Though I'd like to think differently, reality tells me the Lakers will win in 6.
Dang everyone is overrating the Lakers. The Suns definitely have a shot here.
If Phoenix is still unconscious from 3 pt land, I like Phoenix.
Size doesn't matter out on the perimeter much.
Yeah Mehmet Okur was badly needed against the Lakers. He could take one of the bigs out of the paint. I think Frye is a key player against the Lakers as well.
The Suns. I have had enough of the lakers. They have beaten down the spurs too many times to support them.
I thought this was on who you want to win the west. The lakers will win the west although I would rather see Phoenix win.

The Suns will crack and we all know that. Despite the fact that I want them to beat the Lakers it's just not happening.
Their getting their revenge after years of getting their ass kicked by us. I would like for them to finally succeed and get out of the West, but I just don't see it happening.
That Nash to Amare pick and roll will not fly with the Lakers.
