Pau's wingspan 7'5
Duncan's wingspan 7'3
Duncan's arms are very long for a 6'10 guy but still shorter compared to an average 7 footer like Pau.
DSF, Gasol is pretty long. I don't think Gasol has the combination of length and athleticism to guard Amare, but unfortunately Bynum does.

Also I forgot to mention, Phoenix will need to limit LA's offensive rebounding which is no easy task. If they let Kobe get in the paint and draw help defender, Gasol and Bynum will get to play volleyball with his missed shots.
Duncans defense is complete compared to Gasol's these days. Sounds crazy, but its true. Every one of LA's frontcourt 3 (Pau/Odom/Drew) play better D than Duncan.
Seriously? You have link?
You are. I am using a different computer today and forgot to log in before reading the posts today. Yeah, your POS posts are a good reminder for me to log in first.

The Grizzlies also got center Lorenzen Wright and guard Brevin Knight in the deal, but it is upon the progress of Gasol that the trade will ultimately be judged. "In Pau we saw a player with extraordinary length [Gasol's wingspan is 7'5"] and a real basketball presence," says Grizzlies general manager Billy Knight. "We really think he can be one of the young pillars of our team."
LOL Gasol..An Athletic 7 foot 5 wingspan
LOL Bynum..A legit center 7 foot 3 wingspan
LOL Odom..An athletic 7 foot 4 wingspan
LOL Lots of wingspan
Gasol + Artest - Raja Bell - Brian Cook = Lakers in the Finals
Lakers are just a mediocre good team without Gasol. They know it.
Lakers - Gasol = Jazz
Jazz + Gasol > Lakers
mediocre team + Gasol = Lakers - Gasol
Good team + Gasol > Lakers
Suns > Lakers - Gasol (Suns can sweep Lakers if Lakers minus Gasol)
Spurs, Mavs,Thunders > Lakers- Gasol
Nets < Lakers - Gasol
Well, ya, obviously..if you take the best player off any team, they're going to be a lot worse..
I thought you would say Kobe's the best player on Lakers team.
Yer right anyway.
Why I selected Gasol over Kobe? Cuz Kobe is MSP(Most Selfish Player) in
the league.![]()
What I mean is they are lucky having Gasol. Otherwise, they might get eliminated in 2nd round in the playoffs even if they got Kobe.
Jordan didn't win anything until he was lucky enough to get Pippen.
Steve Nash is lucky to have Amare or they might not have made it past the 1st round.
1 star never won anything by himself.
I agree..
Pau wouldn't be leading his team right now without Kobe supporting, it's tough to win without a legit #2..
Nash did get to the WCFs without Amare in 2006.
Ya Laker foolish fans just don't get it.
There are two best Lakers - Pau and Kobe on the team.
Lakers can get the le without Kobe but Lakers can't get the le
without Pau.
Now you get it?![]()

Nash has also played more NBA playoffs games than any other player in NBA history without championship. Nash is an entertaining player but you don't win championships playing the Nash style of basketball.
Bynum has HISTORICALLY shut Amare down and down VERY well on him in single coverage. IMO thats going to be the key.
If Bynum can somewhat contain Amare (no easy task the way he is playing) but at least letting the Lakers play single coverage the majority of the time...I think the series goes 5. If Phoenix gets LA real spread out and scrambling on defense...it could go 6.
Artest on JRich is a good matchup for Ron.
Lopez first game back in how long?
Interested in seeing who guards Pau? If its Amare his offensive game MIGHT really struggle with Pau ting on him on the other end...
IMO - Lakers in 5
Good tune up for Orlando who likes to spread you out and launch threes. Cavs are a totally different animal...
Bynum cant guard Amare singled up.
If you're gonna throw bigs at AMare and slow him down thats fine....but this is where tissue soft Channing Frye can KILL you on the perimeter.
Our biggest most tangible advantage in this series is our bench.....its simply better than yours.
Your biggest advantage(as always) is simply having one of the best one-on-one scorers of all time on your side, size up front and a HC who produces les.
I expect PJ will throw Artest @ JRich and render him useless offensively, putting the pressure on Nash to score AND create offense for others.....not good.
DoK summed up the SUNS keys nicely earlier in the thread:
Nash/Amare will have to score alot,Lopez will have to be a factor, our bench will have to continue what they've been doing and we'll have to become more active again on the offensive glass.
I'm not concerned about playing in the Staples center, dealing with PJ's bull or Kobe's charity FT's.
SUNS will play harder, more aggressively than LA and will be rewarded![]()
