How old were you when you learned how to swim? Or how old were your kids when you taught them how to swim?
I'm thinking of teaching the babies to swim this summer.. too soon? (They are 9mo/22mo).

We are going for a wedding, but we will be there for five days. So I'm sure we will see some sights.
It will be interesting to see how the kids do with traveling.
I've been swimming longer than I remember, so... don't know. I do know that I was already at the underwater doggie paddle stage by the time I was 4 or 5. Like a fish, I was.
I know that you can find swim lessons for kids in the two-year-old range, so it shouldn't be too young for the 22-month-old to get started. There are also classes for babies, but I don't know how much of it is about actually swimming vs. just getting accustomed to being in a pool. Don't know that I, personally, would be ready to teach my non-existent children that early, though. I think I'd freak out the whole time.
I'm thinking the same thing. Maybe just the older one this summer, and then wait til next year for the baby. We have a pool in our backyard - so I want them to learn relatively early.

I had no idea. I grew up in a town with 3 black people and none of them were very stylish. Also my dad was "old school" so we weren't allowed to watch any show where the cast was over 50% black.

Haha. My father in law was like that. He hated that the blacks were always trying to find a way to get into your house, even through the TV. He only watched the channels for "good white folks".
Oh and my mother in law was a little old lady like Sofia on the Golden Girls with short, curly white hair. She always complained that she couldn't do a thing with her hair. But then they got this new hair stylist at the retirement home where she lived, and she raved about how talented this lady was and how she always put this amazing product in her hair and how her hair looked so good now. She wanted to me to buy her some of this amazing hair stuff, so I told her to get the name for me. Well the lady gave her a little tube of it to show to me and it was "Afro Sheen"!! I was dying laughing when I explained to her what it was and she got real offended and took that tube and dropped it in the trash, and never went back to that stylist!
