assholes.
Ok we all know that they shut online servers down for most there games that were 2 years old and older but now they trying to stop ya from buying a used game and playing online for free.

If they do this on console games it's f'd.
Massively boycott their ty games.
Problem solved.
Wow just wow, well good thing i only play madden from that line up of games.
I usually avoid EA Sports anyways.
Going on 4 years now that I haven't even touched an EA sports game more than once or twice.
NHL is the only EA sports franchise that achieves. I'd say overachieve since the rest of their lineup (minus soccer MAYBE) sucks so bad, but NHL series has been good consistently.
I try to avoid EA... but I can't play Battlefield: Bad Company 2 right now because of some EA bull .
There's no maybe... Pro Evolution Soccer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> FIFA, and has been for years now.
Yeah, I was much more inclined to go with Konami over EA sports based only on reputation, but I have only played FIFA and it wasn't as bad as I expected.
EA has done similar for a while with DLC it's sad to see EA do this because you know people will still play to pay online.
Not in the past year or two. PES/WE has regressed over the past 3-4 iterations, while FIFA has vastly improved. This is coming from a (former) diehard WE fan.
I actually still don't completely like the feel of FIFA, even though they are good games. I'm just wishing for Konami to get their head out of their asses...they haven't seemed to have same an excellent game since this new generation of consoles.
This is true.
Winning Eleven 9 (Pro Evo 5) is still the best sports game ever made. They've yet to improve upon it, IMO.
Wait, are you saying if I buy a used Battlefield 2 game right, I wouldnt be able to go online with it?
I'll take your word for it. Although I just played FIFA World Cup 2010 and it was still meh... I always hated the inertia they apply to the players. It's way too much. Last WE I played still was superior in that aspect.
Well THQ beat them to it

So what happens if you buy the game brand new. You don't want the game anymore and give it away to a friend for free. They don't pay you anything for the game. Do you still have to buy this online pass?
It seems like they were only going after people who bought the game used from a game store or something. Anybody know?
I would assume that you would but you didn't buy it used. Your friend gave it to you.
Maybe the online pass is gonna be associated with the console's serial number so people wont be able to just pass off the code to someone else.
So if you used that one-time code on your xbox, your friend may have to go to gamestop or the game developer's website to buy a new access code.
I'm not too sure though.
EA pissed me off beyond belief when I used to be a PC gamer. They would update the entire system in Madden or NBA Live, I would buy the PC version, and then realize none of the updated system got transferred over to PC. $50 for an updated roster....
