I really don't find Grace/Jeri to be super attractive.

Mind you, it's not like hot chicks only draw in nerds. There aren't many dramatic shows on TV that don't feature at least one "hot chick" and one "hot guy".
Agreed, but it's humorous to note that it took so long for shows like Star Trek to say, "Hey... sex appeal might be a good idea."

It's just a little more transparent when a half-Borg character shows up and just happens to be a supermodel-type female.

Personally, I would put Grace Park in my top 20, if not top 10. I think she's gorgeous, and hers looks like a very natural type of beauty. I'm not really super-attracted to Starbuck, but I think she would be the type of chick that's absolutely awesome to meet in real life.... probably Grace too. They both seem pretty genuine as far as how they portray themselves.

You're kidding me, right? The original ST was one of the pioneers of modern TV, including sex appeal with Kirk and his various escapades (various hot alien women + Uhura).

Speaking of Uhura, she was a key piece of ST's sex appeal. ST is also known for pioneering multiculturalism in the cast - something uncommon and edgy at the time, but 100% of all TV nowadays.

Sex appeal has always been part of Star Trek though. I mean, look at the skirts the females wore. Uhura was pretty hot. And what about Kirk's "Girl of the Week"?

It's TNG that decided to flush sex appeal down the toilet. Yet another point for the Original.

This list isn't just about attractiveness. Think about it. Every year, for no explainable reason, a former top-10 rankee is dropped double-digit spots? SO in a year 10+ or even 20+ people were discovered to be more attractive?

This is a popularity contest masquerading as a hotness ranking. It's equal parts. If you look back at previous lists, glance through the top-10 and there's seldom any hold over from year to year. The reason, said year said hottie wasn't on enough magazine covers, or in enough sexy film roles, or make enough sexy videos to help an newly released album top the charts.

It's as much "Hot" as in "Hot right now" as in popular, as it is "Hot" as in physically attractive.

Yes, but when TNG, Voyager, and DS9 came around, it was much, much less obvious (with the exception of "The Naked Now" episode of TNG, but even that was pretty tame). At least until they started talking about Jadzia Dax's highly sexual past, and 7 of 9 was introduced.

Battlestar Galactica, for how amazing the plot was, opened with a lot of incredibly sexual scenes in the first 4 hours of the show.

BSG is my favorite series of all-time, hands down. It's Star Trek with better characters (read: flawed) and a more believable plot, and much less deus ex machina to save the day in the last 10 minutes of the show. Of course, that means the show also depends a lot more on continuity, but I think it makes for a much deeper plot than episodes that are mostly self-contained, like in TNG.

Despite my strong geek leanings, I can't get into BSG. At all. I've been urged and prodded to watch repeatedly. Even drunkenly chastised by nerdy friends at bars because of my dismissal. But... I just can't do it.

Also, no way in is Olivia Munn a gamer. It was very obvious in the early days of AOTS that the geek thing is total artifice.

I have a hard time with sci-fi on television, in general.

Love Dr. Who, though I'm way far behind. And 1960s Star Trek for the cheese factor. I'm hooked on Fringe, but I don't know if that even counts.

I've heard good things about Fringe too.

The reboot of Doctor Who is great.

    this is so in' true.

i dunno i really don't find olivia munn too attractive. morgan webb seems like she would be a crazy adventure , the kind that gets her geek girlfriends drunk and has them join in.

olivia seems like she would be too busy looking in the mirror or posting online, and her s sag and she under 30.
