No I said that the Nash and Dragic would us in half. But we would have a better chance than the Spurs because we match up better. If Roddy got to play it would have been real interesting.

You can't deny that Lebron quit on his team, so idk why Cleveland fan is taking so much flak in this thread. Regardless of how ty your team's history is, quitting should never be excused.
+1 It should tell people something that Cleveland fans universally turned on this guy. Just go read real cavs fans and most people feel the same that Joe and Dan do.

Letting Lebron leave accomplishes the same not paying a dime goal, but I guess you don't get 7 point ecstasy that way

You really need to exit this thread if you can't grasp basic logic. Letting Lebron leave doesn't "accomplish the same not paying a dime" goal. They save $6 million over two seasons, and have $10 million more in cap room for 2011 as opposed to just letting him walk.

Is trading Jamison's contract something they can only do with Dallas? The cheapest option is once Lebron walks finding a team to trade an expiring for Jamison which wouldn't be hard.

None of that answers my question. Why is Dallas the only team on your list that doesn't have the cap room to sign him. If a sign and trade is such a distinct possibility, why aren't all 30 teams possible destinations?
If a team is over the cap and can put together the same kind of package as Dallas can (reduces future $$ commitments, draft picks, promising young player), and LeBron wants to play for them, then they would absolutely be in the mix as well. Can you name such a team?

Now that I've answered your question, can you answer mine: Option A or Option B if you're Danny Ferry and LeBron won't agree to an extension?

Jamison has two years and $28 million left on his deal and he's 34 years old. First you have the Cavs front office turning into basket cases and unable to move or do anything but cry softly if LeBron walks, thus they'll "suck for the next 5 years." Now you have them nimbly jettisoning bad contracts and retooling quickly. So they're also going to be able to dump Mo Williams, Daniel Gibson and Andy Varejao as well?

Pick a lane please. Your logic seems to center around the idea that they will stick their thumbs up their asses and not "collaborate" with LeBron James leaving because some of their more ignorant fans will throw hissy fits on Cavs message boards.

Plan A for them is getting LeBron to agree to an extension. Plan B is shedding bad contracts and rebuilding quickly if he doesn't.

If you wanna oversimplify things then option B. If I'm Danny Ferry I say to Lebron, "I'm not agreeing to any sign and trades, if you want to leave, you're gonna have to roll the dice with bottom feeders like NY or NJ." Why would Danny Ferry want to open up the possibility of Lebron signing with a 2nd seed?

One more reason why. Cleveland wouldn't wanna give up their advantage of being able to offer more than other teams.

Because he doesn't want to see LeBron James four times a year, or have to deal with LeBron's team in the playoffs.

The Nets have Brook Lopez, Devin Harris, a top five pick, a new arena, and a deep pockets owner. The Knicks can put a premier FA alongside him with the amount of cap space they have. Miami has the cap space to put him alongside Dwyane Wade. Chicago has a core of Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah waiting for him. If Ferry tells LeBron to piss off, he can watch him dominate the Cavs and the rest of the Eastern Conference for the next 10 years in a Bulls/Knicks/Nets/Heat uniform.

Which is why he will ask the Cavs to S'n'T him so he gets that extra year, if he decides to leave. The leverage of being able to walk away gives him the ability to do that. At that point the Cavs will be sifting through the best S'n'T offers for him.

Lebron isn't getting another max contract FA to sign anywhere with him, that's what I've been trying to say.

The Knicks will have $13 million in cap space left over should they sign him. LeBron/$13 million FA acquisition/David Lee + ability to name his own coach, GM and play in the financial/media/cultural capital of the country and be given the opportunity to revive basketball in New York is a pretty enticing offer.

If he doesn't want to do that, he can team up with Wade in Miami.

Or he can join Rose and Noah in Chicago.

Or he can go to a promising situation in Jersey to play for Russian Mark Cuban and Jay Z.

If Ferry doesn't want to play ball with Dallas, he's opening himself up to LeBron bolting to an in-conference rival. There's a reason the Lakers traded Shaq to Miami, even though they reportedly got better offers from other Western teams.

Do you have anything useful to add?

Dallas' offer is much better than nothing. Maybe you don't understand this, but when you trade a superstar just entering his prime like LeBron, it's usually for non-basketball reasons, and you don't get back 100 cents on the dollar.

Amare doesn't wanna play with Lebron, Bosh wants to be a #1 option, and Wade sure as doesn't wanna be his perimeter sidekick. There's no way he's getting another max FA

That advantage means nothing if they can't get him to agree to an extension. And if he decides to leave, he will ask for a S'n'T to get that extra year.

Your whole premise is that the Cavs will cut their nose to spite their face in the event that LeBron decides to bolt...and it is far better to do nothing in order to "appease" fans that already know full well that if LeBron leaves, it will be his choice and the Cavs can't stop him.

I get what you're trying to say, that you think Cleveland fans would hold the Cavs management responsible for his exit, but that's not the reality. They know full well LeBron has the leverage to get whatever he wants.
