Heres another Gay, checkin out RJ's ass!

Again. Why would they want to trade with us? If I'm the Grizzlies and you offer me any player from the Spurs outside of the big 3 and I would hang the phone in a second. You want a borderline all-star but you are not willing equal talent back when other teams can and probably will.
The only thing the Memphis might be interested would be a package of both Hill and Blair, but we would turn it down as fast as they would with anything else. Plus we wouldn't take a salary as high as Gay's (even if we get him cheap) without dumping some of our own. That leaves...
RJ could be something they might be interested in but why would they? They are up and coming team maybe 1 or 2 decent players away from being the OKC of 2011, no way they go after a salary dump like RJ.

How about Granger? Indy has been shopping him last year. Can play O and D, can switch the 3 and 4 efficiently. Only downside is he has been injury prone, it's a high reward gamble for the Spurs though.
fell out of favor with memphis?! no way, if anything joe mayo did.
heisley will let gay walk before he takes on a huge contract just to keep from losing him for nothing. he says he's willing to pay what it takes to keep him, but that ronnie brewer trade has been interpreted by most fans as an insurance policy in case he does get a max offer.
as far as scoring goes, he leads the second tier right under james, durant, anthony. i always thought he and chris paul would make the perfect 1-2 punch. the guy's a little-to-no-effort defender, though. he has the ability based on his athleticism and size, but some guys just can't stay focused on both ends.
the grizzlies need 3 point shooting more than anything, and obviously the spurs don't have it. parker is a bad fit since mayo is working on becoming a point guard (i don't believe he will ever get there, but they'll probably give him spot minutes this year).
no. Gay would be a horrible fit for the Spurs.
For one thing, he's a ballhog who thinks he's better than he is. And LOL at the people claiming he's defensive-minded. The guy could not care less about defense.
There are few players would be worse fits on the Spurs than Rudy Gay. The guy will not make this team better.
Isnt Granger a FA?
granger for hill do it....hill gets to go home to indiana
We'd have to give up Parker and ask for nothing in return before the Grizz would take those three jinxed idols.
Gay is a chucker, a bad defender, can't shoot the 3 and would require a big salary and long term contract, all in all you'd be hard pressed to find a worse fit for the Spurs.I don't understand why people think Grizzlies would take RJ's contract in a S&T, though, it's mind-boggling to read suggestions like that and people seem quite serious about it, not just trolling. WTF!?
That's funny......
A spurs jersey with the name GAY on the back.
LMAO!
the incentive to trade him would be the fact that he cant lead a team to and never help them win anything while hes there
I would love D.Granger!!!! he is a warrior...
But he is going to ask for a max deal and will probably end end in NY if they fail to get Lebron...
I think we need to find a better 3 point shooter, we really have no reliable 3 point shooters aside from maybe Ginobili and Hill.
AFAIK he is signed to a long term deal, that's why the Pacers tried to unload him last year, because of that contract and his injuries.
It would be a gamble for the Spurs, but a high reward if he stays healthy.

Granger ? lol of course then we go after bosh and we are set
If you can get Granger it is a NO BRAINIER - when healthy he is a top 10 scorer in this league - in fact on per 48 basis he is tied as 4th best scorer in league and has reasonable long term contract - injuries have been only issue - NOT sure why Pacers would want to move him (hes just entering his prime) but if you could make it happen then I would move obviously RJ and 1st round pick and would consider Parker depending on what the total package involved - as I said don't see anything happening thats a big splash this summer but Granger would be PERFECT!
Edit: Looking around net I see nothing showing the Pacers being remotely interested in moving Granger - the only report was the A. Jefferson for Granger report that they immediately said no according to one report and another report says they never even discussed trading Granger

No, he needs to take 3 to 4 years to understand what is team work.
How is that supposed to help Spurs perimeter D and post D?
Since the defending champions are gay, it makes sense for the Spurs to add someone whose name is Gay
i meant in defensive prowess, in plain english.
Battier is certainly a better defender, but Gay is a better all-around player than both RJ and Battier. Is that plain enough - in English?
I know pommy and that's not pommy.
Toodle pip!
yeah. and we are not yet in the we-could-also-get-a-lottery-pick-out-of-this phase.
Grizzlies will listen to Spurs about a S&T for Gay.
the talking starts with RJ + Hill + #20 pick.
but like BG I'm not that high on Gay. what scares me most is his ball hog at ude.
RJ + pick and done deal for me. Hill is too valueable and his status is likely untouchable.
Why would the Grizzlies do it? RJ('s contract) has a negative trade value right now - you can only trade him for players with longer contracts, who are deemed 'bad' by their teams. Gay is a FA, it's not like the Grizzlies would need to salary dump him? You don't think they'd much rather have 15 mil in cap space than RJ? Or paying 15 mil to RJ for the 20th pick, which they can buy for about 3 mil max if they want to?
Would ya'll consider Blair and Jefferson? JW I don't want to figure out the financial possibility but if that's what they wanted. Would ya'll bite?
