I just got a 46" sony bravia, and after I got it set up in my gameroom, I was disappointed, since it looked small against the wall. Should have got a 55"

Get a LED or a Plasma.

Buy any cables you need here:

Yeah, go look at TVs, pick one or two that look the best to you and jot down the model #s, go home and research for any significant problems, decide between the lesser of two evils and then go buy it.

I'd recommend Panasonic (Plasma) or Samsung (LED), actually. They seem to be doing really well.

If you're gonna watch sports, get a 120Hz unit. Or go to walmart and stand in between a 60hz and a 120hz unit, and see if you notice the difference in moving objects. I certainly do.

Best picture I've seen under $7000.

Still more than twice what a paid for my Sammy LED, though.

There's definitely a difference for watching sports between 60 Hz and 120 Hz. A lot of the blur is reduced for LED TVs (plasmas don't have this issue.). 240 Hz is overkill. Here's my suggestions based on picture quality and overall performance. As CH implied, plasmas and now LED-LCDs have the best picture quality and superior black levels.

Plasmas: Panasonic V10 series (50/54/58" - might be discontinued) or B60 series (50/58")
LED-LCD: LG Infinia 55LE8500, Sony Bravia KDL-46NX800, most Samsung LEDs (B8500 if you can find it).

well after doing research I have found out the best bang for the buck is this tv:

Panasonic TC-P50G25 is a freaking beast. As good as any LED and miles ahead of any LCD.

Another TV I fell in love with for some reason is this Sharp AQUOS LC-46LE810UN

the colors on that Sharp are unbeleivable and is one of the best looking tvs I seen. That is an LED.

too bad I don't thin I'll be getting a TV cause I don't think I can sell my old one. Anyway one of you mofos need to get one of these

LED TV if you have too much money to spend.

But, if you're in the real world like me, I recommend a LG LCD TV. I've got a 47" LG from Bestbuy that I absolutely love. I highly recommend them.
