Kobe Bryant had a "significant amount of fluid" drained from his right knee recently and hasn't practiced with the Los Angeles Lakers since they advanced through the Western Conference semifinals, the Los Angeles Times reported on Monday.

Bryant isn't the only Laker hurting. Center Andrew Bynum has practiced just once since the Lakers advanced past the Utah Jazz to the conference final. He said his right knee injury was "getting a little worse" after taking part in a team scrimmage on Saturday.

The Lakers had no comment when asked Monday for confirmation of Bryant's knee being drained. Neither Bryant nor Bynum spoke to reporters Sunday. Of Bryant, Lakers coach Phil Jackson said "He came out [Sunday] and shot a little bit and tried to get in rhythm. We hope that he's on board and his game is right at that point where it needs to be."
As for Bynum, Jackson said "I thought he played well [Saturday] and we're hopeful that he's going to be at that level."
Bynum's getting run into the ground, and Kobe is still elite, but his age is showing

It's (Bynum's knee, Nash's dribble, Kobe's knee) a concerted plant out of the minds of the PR guy Black, Kupchak, Buss' children and Jackson.

The Suns should just disregard all this happy horse .

The oil change doesn't normally feel like getting a ice pick stuck in the side of your knee.

I have to get my left knee drained on occasion and it isn't without its pain. Damn injury from football acts up once in a big while, but I've learned how to keep the occurrence down through mostly ice/hot treatments. Definitely not an easy thing to go through no matter whom you are.

Difficult to ascertain the innocent factor. The gusset of her panties contained the snot of 5 men.

Hilarious. It's almost as if the Lakers have a team in place to give information to these people called "journalists" whose job it is to ascertain the most minute of information up to and including the duration and frequency of Lakers' post-practice farts.

How strange it is that a completely irrelevant non-issue like having a knee drained would then somehow make its way to the press.

Meanwhile, the only reason I know Pierce, KG, and Perkins are dealing with knee injuries is telepathy.

hey bro...how often do you treat the knee. I have a torn tedon in my ankle that i havent got surgery for (reason cuz i can walk run jumnp with it), but sometimes it gives me pain once in a while. Still not sure if I should go under the knife for it yet.

Luckily, this year I haven't had to drain it because I have switched to a lower impact workout. I have put running long distances on hold because it does cause it to swell up if I put too much into it. I don't know if it would relate to your ankle injury--but, I do have some experience in that as well.

The worst year was 2008 when it would have to be drained once, twice a month. The orthopedic surgeon/specialist said there wasn't anything visible to rule as causation at that time and suspected that I might've just tore the MCL at one point and that it would cause fluid to build-up. I spent a great deal of time trying to find out what was wrong only to have doctors scratching their heads. So, I decided to take a regiment of anti-inflamatory medication, quit playing sports as much, and changed my running regiment to some walking.

I tore almost all of the tendons in my ankles (incl. achillies tendon) when I was in HS playing football and I do recommend that you at least get it checked out if its torn. The reconstructive surgery has made my ankle stronger and though it was the result of a compound fracture, I do think w/o the surgery I'd have more problems with it today.

Thanks for the advice. The doctor says i have a tear in the peroneal tendon but he is confused why my pain is in the sinus tarsi area. What he says they can do is take out some scar tissue and repair the tendon since its open already. The only reason im hesitant is the fact that the pain doesnt really hinder me from playing sports but it is painful when i do an eversion twist. Anyways...im trying some physical theraly and though that helps with the strengthing and balance, the pain is still there.

Yeah, I understand where you're coming from. I mean, even with orthopedic/arthro surgery, you can have problems with the area for the rest of your life. I don't know if I'll have those in my ankle and knee, but I'm only 30, so I might not get the pain until later though. I have fought through so many injuries that I wonder if I will even notice the pain. The PT will help immensely if you stay true to it and if he can't find the problem causing the sinus tarsi area it could be just a result of wear and tear or maybe a hairline fracture or even nerve damage. But, he is the medical professional so I would go on his word, not mine. lol.

    Good luck though, Machine.

Well, basketball can be damaging, too. Less contact for sure...but that game is hard on the joints and if you play it long enough...the pounding on the concrete/hardwood can take its toll.

However, I played pretty reckless as an OLB/MLB/FB/TE that I might've been better served to have been less wanting to make a hard hit and not go without a care in the world. If I were to do it again, I would've probably played smarter or stuck to baseball lol.
