I got attacked by a cougar last night...and no, not the good one either...though my girl would probably hate that idea...
yeah i had trouble with that too
basically, you have to paint ALL 6 little crosshairs (to use all 6 bullets in your revolver) onto the enemy so your guy will shoot.
when the crosshair is white, its the most accurate. when its big and red, least accurate.
whoever paints all 6 bullets onto the enemy first while in dead eye, then shoots first
thats what i learned and now i never lose one

I hate cougars. Definitely the hardest animal. You could be walking down the street and not hear a sound and suddenly you're on the floor and almost dead. Or sometimes I'm just finishing up skinning animals when a cougar kills my horse.
I was hunting a buck and this freakin' cougar came barreling down a hill and tried to steal the buck so I got two kills for the price of one...
If only RockStar made FarCry 2..... it wouldnt have been that fest that it turned out to be
I never played either FarCry games...but even this game is a vast improvement on past Rockstar games...
FarCry 2 is an open world game set in war-torn Africa....complete with lions and like that.
but the game is a piece of .
if Rockstar would make a game in war torn africa, the hunting there would be amazing with all the huge game and fierce predators, and the story could be great too, with all the conflicts, civil wars, and slavery diamonds stuff going on there
, I should have gotten this yesterday when I had the day off and my girl was working, I could have played it all freaking day. Gotta get it asap though this sounds awesome.
the only game I've wanted since getting 2k10, being poor sucks
If I get ambushed by ONE MORE of those little blue dots while trying to be "honorable", I'm gonna rape one of the hookers myself.
My MP experience:
As soon as I joined public, not 5 seconds in I got killed. I respawned and immediately took out the guy that killed me. I proceeded to grief his ass, killing him 6 times in a row then got boot. Not sure because of the griefing or because of network issues.
Next, my brother also bought a copy and he was playing in the next room. we formed a posse and started doing gangster hideouts until some other guys started ing with us. We setup behind some rocks and me and my brother took them each out multiple times. they kept trying to circle us and get an angle but we are within earshot of eachother and where yelling to eachother what we where doing and were they where coming from. It was ing awesome!
We both managed to level up to lvl 14 or so mainly killing the same 4-man player posse. Had 39 headshots just in that one session and a kill streak of 29 before they killed me and my brother. 2 on 4.
Owned.
Nice.
I still haven't jumped online. All this level stuff sounds trippy.
Just played some more singleplayer. Where do you get the lasso from? I can't seem to find that challenge/mission. Now I'm going around killing people on the "wanted" posters but i think you get more for returning them alive rather than killing them. I also completed the one challenge were you collect those ferns... A lot you can do in this game.
Keep doing the quests for Mrs. Macfarland or whatever her name is. The one that saves your life at the start of the game. Eventually she will have you go out with her father to rope wild horses, thats when you get the rope.
Its like the 4th or 5th quest you get from her.
I dont think level counts for much, I think it increases your damage, we ran across a lvl 14 guy when we where both level 7 or so and he would kill us easily if we where not together.... Even when we where together, he killed one of us most of the time before we got him.
So far, it seems, the rule for free roam multiplayer..... If another player is near you that is not in your posse, find cover (a rock or some ) and shoot first, but dont expose yourself too much.
Yeah, the guy was twice our level but several times I was able to take him alone just using cover because he was a dumbass staying on his horse out in the open.
Seriously... I logged off and my brother fended off a posse of 3 players for like 30 minutes by himself without being killed, getting multiple kills on them, just using cover smartly.
*hint* use a repeater rifle in Multiplayer. They ing own at range and most players right now dont use them.

Yeah, I've been watching hours of RDR on justin.tv and none of these brahs use cover. They just run'n'gun out in the open.
I'm going to be such a damn noob when I get this game trying to figure out how to aim with a controller instead of a mouse. The auto-aim feature looks like of weird, especially in a MP.
Alright cool. I think I've done 2 or 3 missions with her.
Yeah, taking cover is the best way to go instead of running and gunning. You get killed a lot less.
Also if you didn't know after you skin an animal and collect the meat and maybe the horns and skin, in the general store you can sell them. so once you talk to the guy in the store you can press the right button and that prompts "sell" instead of "buy". don't know if it will benefit you to keep them over time and maybe sell them to people in the streets. but who knows.
It is your civic duty to oppose women's suffrage.
These wenches have been overcome with emotion. Go home, woman, for it is nears suppertimes!
Don't let Uncle Sam be turned into Aunt Samantha.
Well, I got the game when it came out and I just finished it. I didn't complete it 100%, but I did manage to unlock most of the outfits, so I did do a bunch of side quests as well. I haven't gotten to the multiplayer yet, but I'll try it out in a day or two, then I'll try to complete the rest of the single-player 100% sometime after that.
I just have to say that this game was amazing...I've been playing games for years, and nowadays I'm usually picky in choosing video games because it seems as though I've seen it all, but not with RDR. It was a refreshing change, and yet it still has SO much untapped potential.
Too bad it'll probably take years for another full release. Hopefully the DLC can keep me going once it comes out.

Did you like the ending? It kind of pissed me off.
Wanna cheat for treasure hunter challenge?

There ya go.
Ok. Can someone help me out on the "Mexican Wagon Train" mission? I can't figure out how to take out the driver w/o getting shot to ...
I tried the Dead Eye thing, but it doesn't take out the guards, just stuns 'em, and then they unload on my ass.
I ran into the most peculiar scene on RDR...I'm sure most of you have seen it; but I saved a guy that was used as bait for some cannibilistic orgy going on near Armadillo. It was quite interesting and disturbing in the same breath.
Yeah.
I don't wanna ruin it for anybody that HASN'T done it yet, but I wasted a uva lotta time collecting flowers for that one old bas 's bouquet.
Personally, I liked it. I'd talk more about it, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone.
I put that mission off until the end of the game because he was asking for flowers that were across the map, but when I finally completed it I can't say I was surprised at the state of his wife. Especially after all the crazy characters you meet in this game...
Try shooting his wife's head. It just fell off...
Anyone else see strange NPC events out in the wilderness? Not the usual hijackings, or stabbings, etc. I'm talking about things like NPC's committing a murder-suicide, or two nobodies fist fighting on an edge of a cliff.
