God of War 3 is all you need.
What PS3 games are almost like watching a movie or story unfold?
God of War 3 is all you need.
Uncharted 2 and it's not even close.
I traded in God of War 3 after a week because of how disappointing they ended the trilogy.
I still haven't got to play it. I was such a huge fan of the first two. I hope when I finally play it I don't get the same feeling.
Believe me brah, I was a HUGE fan of GOW and GOW2. GOW3 was pretty, but the game was only like 8 hours and the story was weak as .
Now you're depressing me, brah. I remember when I finished GOW2. I needed a box of kleenex to fap and cry. I don't even want to ruin it for me now.
Hmm Uncharted 2 does look bad ass.
The first Uncharted has a good storyline, too, but isn't quite the movie-like experience that the sequel is. Both are great games, though.
God of War III is great and I actually quite liked how they ended the trilogy. In terms of the story, I think it was the weakest of the three, but I didn't find it at all disappointing.
Also, it doesn't get much love around here because it looks cartoon-y, but I've always loved the storytelling in the Ratchet & Clank series. Good writing, fun characters, and a sense of humor that actually works. The three PS3 games (Tools of Destruction, the downloadable Quest for Booty, and A Crack in Time) function well as a trilogy in terms of story, and the gameplay has been fun throughout the whole series.
Infamous, too, has an interesting story, but it doesn't have the movie feel of the others since it's open world.
well mgs4 is the most epic, but only if you like the series, i got teary eyed when snake went back to Alaska, so epic and nostalgic
uncharted 2 is great for a story that is completely followable in 1 complete game, uncharted 1 same way.
gow3 has epic cinematics, but the story is weak, there was a chance for it about 75% of the way through, but they went a different direction.
i dont know if you are just asking for exclusives, but ac2 is a great storyline for an open world game.
Nah I don't care about exclusives. I'm going to be getting a PS3 soon and Jess likes to watch more than play along, so I wanted to find some games that she could watch and be entertained.
Metal Gear Solid 4, without a doubt
What's the one where you're wind and you have to flower a field... um yeah that one.
Although this is definitely the game that most fits the OP's posted req, I dont think he and especially whoever's watching would understand it without at least some playing time on the first 3 and reading up. That series is intense so if the OP bought a backwards compatible PS3 (ie plays all PS games 1, 2 or 3) that could be a good series to work through if you don't mind 15-10 year old FX during the first couple.
Open world games may come across boring for the watchers unless the player knows how to keep things interesting (and a game such as Oblivion might never work, too much repe ive built right into the core gameplay). So, keep that in mind while I suggest FallOut 3.
FallOut 3 is an open world FPS/RPG game that will include a lot of wandering about, but you can fast travel to any city/town, dungeon, etc you discover and all the battles can be simulated in a theatrical style called VATS that gives you odds on hitting certain body parts based on the gun, distance, etc, so it's really close to participating in a movie.
But, If the player isn't constantly doing except wandering around, it might be somewhat boring for someone else to watch but if the player consistently seeks out missions, it would be highly entertaining as the game has a great post-apocalyptic world and hundreds of different missions spread throughout a 16 square mile wide world. IE, tons of gameplay and missions.
If open world games aren't the OP's thing or you think your girl will be bored, I suggest Uncharted. That's probably more up the casual gamers road, actually, but I haven't played enough of either one personally to truly give you an educated scoop. I honestly don't know what type of gamer you or your friends are, so maybe more action games are better for ya'll.
But whatever you do, don't buy Demon's Souls. It's a great, great game, but you replay a small amount of missions over and over until you achieve them just about perfectly. It's a lot more fun than it sounds, but your viewer won't be pleased about watching the same battles take place tens of times.
I've played Oblivion on my PC and I would never force someone to watch that.
If you have a 360 I would also recommend Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2. Very engaging.
Ratchet also is very well written but might be a turn off to some because of the cartoony aspect.
Uncharted 2 and Infamous
A city on the US east cost is being terrorized by the 'Origami Killer', whose victims are all discovered drowned, four days after they go missing. Seemingly the only clues: an origami figure and an orchid, discovered on each of their bodies.
The public is gripped by fear and paranoia. The authorities seem no closer to a credible suspect. And now another potential victim has disappeared - Shaun Mars.
As the clock ticks amidst su ion and anxiety, four very different people are drawn into the investigation - each following their own leads in a desperate search for Shaun.
Each of them knows what the cost will be if they don't reach him in time - and they will soon be forced to ask themselves just how far they are prepared to go...
AC2 has no replayability IMO, but a fantastic game. Miles better than the first.
Heavy Rain looks pretty bad ass. My best friend plays a lot of Uncharted 2 so I'll be getting that for sure.
I don't have a PS# or an xbox360, so I actually enjoy watching walkthroughs/cut scenes of various games on youtube.
DarkSiders is another good one.
I say Heavy Rain also, My girlfriend usually goes and watches tv in the bedroom when I play my games, I got her a 46" Sony Bravia a HD DVR and a recliner in there so she won't be piss when I take over the living room.
It works but with Heavy Rain she would actually want me to play it so she could watch and see what happen and when I had to make a choice she would voice her opinion, she was all into it.
