I'm really enjoying it. Been too busy with end-of-the-semester papers and finals to even fully digest the episodes, though, let alone discuss them.
WTF? Anybody? Anybody? You still hooked Funt? This show's gotten better and better with each passing episode. It's now (much) better than anything else on TV. Anybody have anything to say?

My thoughts are that the dialogue is awesome. That was ed up when the cops beat Antoine and sometimes Davis annoys me more than other times. And I don't like druggies who treat hot girls like . I hope that asshole winds up OD'ing or something and she goes on to commercial success.
Treme is my favorite show on TV right now. I love the character development and the music is awesome. I love how many themes are going on in the show, it feels very authentic. great writing/acting
God, this show is so damn good. I feel really bad for anyone unfortunate enough to have acquiesced to Lost or whatever other network crap they're watching on Sunday nights besides Treme.

Glad I've been watching "Treme," though. The writing and acting are both top notch so far.
I'm not faulting anybody for it. I'm watching that right now on Netflix. Actaully I am faulting people for it, but still, truly, it's just because I feel bad that kooks get so ramped up for crap that's broken up every ten minutes by laundry and car commercials. Asshole would've fit, maybe, but I'm hardly popping my collar and calling you 'brah' over a ing TV show. So choose your words better and don't mix my condescendingly empathetic at ude about American consumerism with caricature from Jersey Shore.God damn you're a ing bag.
It took the first 2-3 episodes to begin figuring out the characters, story lines, etc. But at this point I have to say I'm enjoying the out of this show, presents a very unique perspective of post-Katrina New Orleans and the struggles these characters are going through. Love the music, much of which I've never really listened to much before, and the different character stories are just pulling me in more and more. I'd have to give it a solid A- or even an A at this point.
I am starting to get into it too.
It's a much more difficult sell than The Wire in that, when it comes to story hooks, crime, violence, and murder can't be beat. Obviously, The Wire was much more than that, but the action kept things from ever being slow.
While the plot lines here are less compelling, the characters and actors have been tremendous.
I've always liked John Goodman, but he's been incredible. His character teeters close to the edge of being gratingly sententious, but he pulls it back and keeps it entertaining.
Zahn has become less annoying, but his character is still a massive up waiting to happen. Which is a good thing.
I haven't really seen anything Clarke Peters has done other than this and The Wire, but it looks like the man can do anything.
Wendell Pierce shows he has enough charisma to carry a show. I doubt the music we're hearing is actually him, but can anyone tell if he's really playing the bone? I know the girl who plays Annie is a real musician.
Khandi Alexander is another person who can do almsot anything, but damn, she always has depressing parts in dramas.
The music, which is like an additional character unto itself, is a real treat. I like being able to download some of them from hbo.com, but I wish more were available.
Season two starts two weeks from tonight.
Been seeing the cast around town like crazy lately, which has made me very eager for new episodes.
Most of the people who play musicians are real musicians -- I've seen a number of them playing club gigs around town. And apparently Pierce is learning/has learned to play trombone so that he can at least fake it realistically.
Awesome, I didn't even hear it got renewed.

Very excited. I've been finishing them up On Demand. Great characters, great writing, great show.
