That's pretty cold hearted but funny.
Not a good way to be entering the "window is closing" years.

New motivational quote for all teams in all sports when in the playoffs. "Don't be a Maverick."
lollin
That was just wrong ... and yet so right.OU third baseman Garrett Buechele had an interesting quote to the Norman Transcript that could open some old wounds for Mavericks fans.
“You can be good in the regular season all you want, but we don’t want to be the Dallas Mavericks of college baseball; it's not something that we’re interested in,” he told the paper. “We’re looking to go deep in the postseason. It starts with the Big 12 tournament."![]()
It's about time somebody put it out there, but that was harsh.![]()
Hmmm a Dallas thread missing mavfans....
Found this on the nba forum.
As a Mavs fan I've been disgusted with our playoff performances the last few years. This is what you get for flaking out in the playoffs. Even if we get a top free agent this summer, we'll probably still fail in the playoffs. I don't know what it is about this team but when the playoffs roll around no one wants to step up but Dirk. Even our coach chokes in the playoffs (leaving Beaubois on the bench for veteran security blanket Jason Terry). I'm banking on Roddy's development next year if we don't sign a big fa. You can certainly count me as a disenfranchised Mavs fan.
To be fair, if Garrett Buechele (who I assume to be the son of former Texas Rangers' third baseman Steve Buechele) had grown up in northern California, he'd probably have referred to the San Jose Sharks in making the same sort of statement; had he grown up in southern California, he'd probably have referred to the San Diego Chargers.
But what he says is certainly true. Since the start of the 2006-07 season, the Dallas Mavericks have the highest winning percentage in the NBA during the regular season. But during that time, the Atlanta Hawks have won more playoff series (2), than the Mavericks, and the New Jersey Nets have won as many playoff series (1) as the Mavericks. The Nets.
Been saying this for years, but it does sound harsh coming from another source. Damn
we didn't say it... somebody else did.![]()
LOL Mavs
LOL "this is our year"
LOL "we'll get em next year"
LOL Cuban
that hurts me. dang son.
Honestly, a better quote would probably be:
"we don't want to be like our college's football team the last ten years."
How many times have the Sooners made the national championship only to be embarrased in a loss?
