Just raw emotion in that video. Nice to see a player without a game face, but, we really have no right here.

Sucks for Nash to have the distinction of being the only MVP not to have made a Finals. He still has one more year, maybe two to try to get there. Will be interesting to see what Phoenix does this summer if Amare bails. I do agree with the sentiment that you have to at least look at who Nash was losing to that kept him from making the Finals, Duncan's Spurs and Kobe's Lakers for quite a few of those playoffs.

That said, the media should take a lot of blame here. It's been said plenty of times, but Nash probably shouldn't have won either of his MVPs, much less both of them.

both of them? Wtf are you talking about. I think he earned both of them but the first one you have no case against. He took a lottery bound phoenix team to the first seed his first year.

    Haters.

    Of course.

Nash there reminded me of Daddy after his first ring. In the immediate aftermath he approaches the restraining rope at Staples looking for his people. The look on his face is absolutely heartrending. A sobering moment, it wiped the smile off my face. Same thing happened last night watching Nash there.

Nash is just unlucky. He had a few years where he was on teams capable of making the Finals and they just didn't catch the breaks. Nash can't be the best player on a championship team but he should've made the Finals at some point.

If Nash could play respectable defense he would have been in the finals by now. Such is the life of a one-way player.

Or if DIrk doesn't get hurt in 2003

Or if Amare doesn't get hurt in 2006

Or if Amare doesn't get suspended in 2007...

we dont know if the Suns make the Finals had these events not happened, but it definitely didn't help
poor 21... so scared of the Celtics

Dirk should reunite with Nash though. So they can retire ringless in the sunset together; binge drinking their sorrows away while banging a bunch of ugly, insecure chicks they met on the internet.

I feel bad for Nash after the effort he poured into this season, which did include playing better defense, but when he signed his extension he knew what the Suns were and what the Suns weren't. A contender is something they weren't. Maybe he doesn't care about making the finals if he's not the alpha dog on the team which is perfectly fine, but if he's gonna make the finals it's gonna need to be on a team where he's the 2nd/3rd best player. He was probably ready for Amare to step in and be the franchise player Phoenix needed, but it's pretty clear now that Amare is who he is. I want the Suns to keep Amare, but I really won't give a if they tell 4 rebound ecstasy to go to .

I think Shaq deserved it in 2004-05.

Steve Nash made a huge impact on Phoenix. But so did Amare playing a full season. The Suns went 29-53 in 2003-04. They were 7-20 in games Amare missed. The Suns were bad and Steve Nash made a huge difference, but adding Amare for 80 games also was a big difference.

Shaq took a .500 team that made it to the playoffs in the weak East to the top seed as well.

ok then why the didn't he win finals MVP over dwade the year after? If he was the MVP of the league that year, why couldn't he be the MVP of his own team when they won the championship the year after?
Don't even try to make the case that he regressed to that point.

Nash was MVP, and he IS the greatest offensive PG of our era.

And jamstone...you seriously think Amare makes a bigger impact than steve? Both play defense, but Nash makes all the passes and picks up the scoring load much of the time too.

    Amare doesn't.
