At Miller Outdoor Theatre? That's one of the neat things about the city - those events.

heh. i'm in houston till sunday staying with a cancer ridden uncle getting treatment at MD anderson. city is definitely huuge and fast paced. the area we're housed in isn't great but for some reason i like it here. home (austin) is so small in comparison.

Yeah, Austin is tiny compared to Houston. My friend used to live off of 290 outside the Beltway 8 and was still smack dab in the middle of the city. For comparison, where he lived would be like living in Leon Springs in San Antonio. It can be a fun, fast paced city, but at the same time, the traffic is god awful and the highways don't make any sense imo.

In San Antonio the main highways take you downtown and you have 410 to take you around. In Austin you have the one main highway going North/South (35) and everything else goes off of the that. I've never driven in Dallas so I can't comment there. But Houston highways are just weird.

And don't get me started on the construction.

Yes, I lived in the medical center and loved to go there.

Houston was pretty nice. I was really surprised by the city. I had always heard negative things about it. Minute Maid Park was cool. It was nice being indoors and not having to deal with the heat and sun. And the Astros fans were pretty nice to Cub fans. I would say it was probably half and half between the Cub and Astros fans in the Saturday night game that I went to. I also went to the Galleria mall. That mall is in' big. Got to see Galveston too. Getting the water was a blessing because of the heat. And I got to see some sexy MILFs on the beach too so that was a plus. Overall, it was a good trip. When I get the chance, I may put up some pics that I took of the trip.

Glad you had a good time, though!
