Yea, I saw this earlier and found it a little refreshing considering what that chick and other have asked for in terms of pay increases. The kids don't learn anyway.
Chris Christie tells teacher she doesn't have to teach! The lady wants more money but says teachers do it because they love it.....BULL .

I think it's wise to insult your voters. SHould work well in the long run.
Calling the police stupid is an insult to voters. Telling a women she shouldn't teach if she thinks the pay scale is not going to change as fast as she wants is good advice.
I took it as a refreshing truth.
If her job doesn't pay her enough, then go find a better one.
someone should have paid christie's nutrition and physical education teachers better salaries.
Here's a flash for you, George; teachers didn't vote for Christie. He wasn't insulting his voters.
I think it's a great PR move...
Should work well with moderates... I think they enjoy their gov insulting the people who teach their kids. In fact he is actually challenging them to quit.. Great management style, you get much more productivity by threatening and insutling people.
It should work well with anyone who doesn't have an en lement mentality.
Maybe we are insulted that teaching has become a jobs program for over educated stupid lazy assholes.
Sometimes you have to make people realize their values are wrong.
Don't teachers already make more than 60k a year?
Isn't making money a good, true capitalist value?
Or it stops being a good value when your employer is the state?
I'm a Jersey Democrat but I'm with Christie on this issue. I wanted to be a teacher until i saw the pay scale and decided i needed to make more money to support the lifestyle i wanted. I hate when teachers complain about pay without considering their great job stability, good health and retirement benefits, and holidays and summers off.
HGov. Christie needs to fund the public libraries though. In a recession public libraries become one of the few places poor people can get access to information whether its books, magazines, internet, music or movies.
Do you think he will outlast his first term?
(Disclaimer: I'm a Jersey resident myself).
The problem comes when teachers use money as an excuse for poor education. Why do people let them hold out children hostage?
I agree libraries may need more funding. The ones in my area do. However, it's a local issue to fund libraries. Not state or federal.
I didn't know Christie pointed out she was a bad teacher. Did you know this woman too? Or you're just merely generalizing?
In this case I'm generalizing.
Tell me though, is it right, in this economy, for a teacher to suggest she needs more money? Shouldn't she be happy she still has a job?
If you're so concerned about unemployment, you should ask Christie why it's ok in this economy to lay off people.
I wish Christie the best, because this state needs help, and Corzine was beyond corrupt. I just think people are starting to realize what they got themselves into, and I don't think they're liking it at all.
I haven't followed him, but if you mean state workers? We have too many in at least 49 states. However, i would prefer to see them go through attrition.
Me too, but the economy is bad, right?
At least we agree there. Some states probably have no choice but to cut jobs. I know I already pay too much in taxes, and how can states do thier duties without more tax dollars?
We don't need more taxes, we need more tax payers. Less people relying on government and less government.
There's always a choice.
Well, there's plenty of shades there. It's not always cut jobs or raise taxes. There's wasteful spending, reduction of benefits, bad contracts, etc etc etc.
It's about being creative really.
That wasteful spending becomes someone elses job.
Well, a hiring freeze is different from cutting jobs outright, especially in this economy. I'm not against cuts actually, but I also think the unemployment situation has to be considered when making such decisions.
