I would try between McFarlane's place and the path on towards Armadillo. For the skunks, it is probably best you stay in grassy areas, lowland in topography and for the raccoons the same...

i hope rockstar patches freeroam that way you and your posse members can play poker or any other minigame
I did see a couple skunks near Thieves' Landing and around the Gaptooth Ridge, too...
got it on sunday and i have 17 hours played already lol 71% complete
I see A ton of Skunks near Chuparosa in Mexico.
Every time I die someone is sitting beside the spawn and kills me immediately. It's happened every time I've been on line so far.
I hate when that happens. I try and look for cover ASAP, but when they're riding on the horse, they almost always have an advantage of you when you're just respawning.
I felt it was an advantage to be off a horse and going against someone who's on one. I use expert aiming as opposed to casual and just shoot the horse and then kill the guy as he's recovering from being thrown off.
Has anyone achieved the $5,000 bounty yet on multi-player?
Mother - I'm on the gates of the presido mission and that won't load. A quick google search shows that its a fairly common problem. FML.
I finally bought it this past week. It's the most involved I've been in with a game since FF7. I kind of screwed up my ability to play the last quarter of the game because I went looking on the net for information on the "I know You" stranger. Someone complained about not being able to participate in it and mentioned a certain character name and I was like "wtf does that have to do with anything?" but as I played the last part of the game there was a feeling of dread, then relief, then dread, then relief...etc until all broke loose. But hey, that should have been expected right? Rockstar's endings epic!
Damn fine game, I really think it's made GTA obsolete unless the next one is San Andreas on steroids. I love the wild west, even more now than when I watched the Dollars Trilogy earlier this year.
Too tired from just beating the game, don't think I'll do multiplayer for awhile cuz I'm burnt outI'll come back here and post my PS3 info when I'm ready to jump back in the saddle.

yeah. I throw on my Mexican Poncho in game and go out collecting bounties. <3 Eastwoods
Beat the game last night, awesome ending.
After a few weeks of just messing around, I finally beat it as well. Very dope ending and I'm still just abuzz about the game.
Amazing game. I sunk about twenty hours into red dead before I realized it ended, which was surprising to me because I've never seen a rockstar game to completion. I don't know why I liked it so much better than GTA...because it had cowboys? If there was one thing that bothered me, it was that John was a little too easily manipulated by the various characters in the game. It's a means of progressing the story, but it seemed completely out of character for him to be taken advantage of so often.
To anyone who finished the game sans spoilers, after you complete it do you back into a roaming state where you can still do challenges and play poker and stuff?
^yup, after you beat the main story, everything is all the same without the missions.
and keep in mind, the game is not over until the credits roll...
Thats what I meant.. after the credits roll. can you go back or just keep loading from the last save?
Nah he was trying to give you a hint. You may think you've completed the storyline but if you didn't see the credits roll, there's more to do.
Anyways, even after you finally complete the storyline (credits) you can still continue and finish any side missions/poker/games.
this is an untapped market
very few western games have been made, and the other ones aren't very good
I had a blast using my Winchester and playing cowboy....
I thought the same, but Call of Jaurez 1 was a very fun game and it never caught on in the states. I don't know about COJ2, I left pc gaming about a month after that game released.
I'm not a very good liar. I can't beat the Liar's Dice game.
I finally beat the story line on Saturday. I'm still trying to unlock all the different outfits. I also have a few Stranger missions left.
